I looked up last year's events on Apple TV and there was WWDC, Sept, and Oct. :) Do you have specific links to John and Jim's allusions?

At the end of his "Thoughts and Observations on Today’s iPhone 5C and 5S Introduction" post.

Speaking of next month, last year Apple held events on September 11 (iPhone 5, iPods) and October 23 (iPads). I feel pretty sure I’ll be flying back out next month.

Hi guys!!!

Just come for what's about in your minds wether it's going to have a keynote on october or not

Don't really asking for know if there will be release of rMBP or not. But the only thing that should matter right now is if we're going to have some kinda presentarion in october because there are too much people advertising there will not be more release until summer 2014 (so in that case i'd buy actual rMBP)

Edit: and a little point of vue...bearing in mind there's no macbook pro presentation (like it was with mac pro or osx maverick); should i think there won't be a release for macbook pro and october is just the definitive launch for mac pro and osx mavericks? Think it will....
And because of it....i'm starting think i'm losing time waiting for october :S
WTF are you doing Tim Cook? Company never stop of losing clients and money since you were in charge and the last **** just a few days agos with the iphone where all international press laughs over you.

What the? Does Apple have something against you personally?

Ah yes. Thanks.

Great, I had forgotten when in October the iPad event actually was. If we see new iPads + Mavericks/rMBP that week, I'm ready. But this will be a crowded event if everything we know is coming comes at the event.

Maybe we should start bets on the actual day..

Oct. 22? :D

..and seeing that the only leaked rMBP geekbench was in early July, what (besides displays?) could keep Apple from releasing the Haswell MBP until October? Certainly not just June's MBA hardware?

----------

Well, since you took that thursday, I'm gonna say Oct 29.

er, Tuesday.. :D

oh and slightly off topic, but this is now the 3rd most viewed and replied-to thread in the MBP section. :D

Gotta get to the top before the "I just got my new MBP" thread explodes.. :D

Has anyone seen any news on the status of IGZO production/shipment? I don't stay up to date on panel news and a quick search hasn't pulled much up. Honestly the only thing on my wishlist for the Haswell update is IGZO (otherwise I'll be waiting until Broadwell).

From Apple:
The OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.5 Update is recommended for all OS X Mountain Lion users. It improves the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac. This update:

Fixes an issue that may prevent Mail from displaying messages
Improves AFP file transfer performance over 802.11ac Wi-Fi
Resolves an issue that may prevent a screen saver from starting automatically
Improves Xsan reliability
Improves reliability when transferring large files over Ethernet
Improves performance when authenticating to an Open Directory server
Addresses an issue that prevented a smart card from unlocking preference panes in System Preferences
Contains the improvements included in MacBook Air (Mid 2013) Software Update 1.0

----------

Yes it has. Just downloaded it on my Haswell rMBP.

By the way, when I said before that people won't respect me because of my age, I meant on this forum, not on the blog.

This guy from Dell just talks about IGZO and the fact it will be in some dell laptop later this year. Although, at least that means it's ready for mass production on a smaller scale. http://en.community.dell.com/dell-blogs/direct2dell/b/direct2dell/archive/2013/09/09/the-first-business-notebook-and-mobile-workstation-with-high-performance-igzo-qhd-display.aspx

[/COLOR]From the kpopstarz website reititerating a part of a 9to5mac post I cannot seem to find:
According to 9 to 5 Mac, the delay on the OS X Mavericks release is caused by Apple focusing on the iOS 7 launch. The mobile OS will officially be available for download on September 18. The Cupertino tech giant was in a rush to get the iOS 7 off the table. The blog site said, that after iOS 7, Apple will now be able to focus on the OS X Mavericks.

Good to see what appears to be a fix to the Anand-identified small-block throughput problem between the new ac units and the ac Airs, before the ac MPBs are released!

Yeah, it's good that the MacBook Air was released before the rmbp so Apple could iron out all at least some of the bugs with the new wifi 802.11 AC wifi, as well as with the other new tech inside of it.

Does it really? I had never heard about this website before and it looks like a linkbait.

I've been thinking, there'll probably be another keynote in October for the iPads and Mavericks. Do you think they'll talk about Mavericks being released on the XXth of October alongside the next rMBPs or close the store and release them on the same day?

I thought this made a bit of sense,
The breadth of the virtue of the new 2013 Haswell era MacBook Pro is fuzzier. The MacBook Air has the kind of specs which, while suitable for most mainstream users, fall far short of what they’d get from an iMac. That means the MacBook Pro will appeal to a larger percentage of Apple’s laptop customers than the Mac Pro will to desktop customers. But with the new Air offering all day battery life and ever improving specs, the new MacBook Pro will have to step up its game accordingly. Any new kingmaker piece of hardware requires a king, and with Apple’s consumer Macs continuing to step up, its Pro models may have fewer kings to crown.

I didn't really read the rest of the article, I stopped right after I finished that paragraph:D The article is kinda bad after reading it in full.

StanleyTimes is what the other people have told you. Don't rely on them for news.

I just googled it to get the article, I know it's a sham. I just thought that it made a bit of sense. I've never even been on their website before. I haven't even heard of it until now.

Well how did it feel when you first used it? Did you use an IBM or Commodore before that? Or perhaps an ill-fated NeXT computer? Or is it something I left out?

That was my first computer. I learned on a Mac. Before that all my film production schedules a forms were done by hand or on a typewriter

Hey Guys! I'm just joining the wait for the rMBP Haswell ..and I had a question for you guys.. two actually.

Welcome! I'd recommend going through this thread. It has all the answers to your questions. :)

I didn't consider that not everyone here can understand english very well so let me break it down for you.
You can buy the new retina MacBook Pro on October 25th.

Yeah, your post wasn't in English. I'm in agreement with the other guys. Also, there's no evidence that the 25th is the release date, either.

Yeah FlameRev your post was a grammatical adventure of epic proportions. But we really didn't care until you started getting a little snarky.
