I suggest you sell your stock then. Also, if that's the way you run your stocks you might want to get into a different game ;) stocks would go up (or remain unchanged) from an "Intel iGPU" and a "dGPU".

Keep in mind Iris Pro comes with the CPU. And the HD 4600 model isn't infinitly cheaper.

Maybe apple should have put AC Wifi, PCI-e SSD, and Ivy Bridge in a case and shoved it out as an update in June. Then had another update for Haswell in October. Would you be happy then?

What?! :D There's been black, white, aluminum... geez.. :p

I bought INTC in 1983, CSCO in 1989 (right after the IPO and before the first of ten 2-for-1 splits), and AAPL in 1997 on the day Steve became iCEO (for less than $4/share, split adjusted). I also bought MSFT puts the day the stock peaked in the $120s before Judge Jackson ordered the break up of Microsoft. If you've done better, then I would be happy to read your advice.

I wonder if they're gonna change the color of the aluminum unibody.
Maybe to copper instead of aluminum? ;)

Haha just teasing around, I probably should have put a ":D" at the end. You're one of the few people here I can say I highly respect. I just like to be pushy

Not succumbing to whim here btw :D

Anything but a lime-green rMBP-C! :D

Lol don't worry piss yellow will be sold out first

Mac Pro saw a colour change this year, so did the iPhone, maybe a colour change for MBP's may be reasonable? Apple has been very colourful this year:D

Maybe we'll get a Jim Dalrymple "yep" at some point in the next couple of weeks for the 15th or the 23rd. Of course hope it's the 15th. That is if there is no silent update this month on the 24th. Holding out some small hope for the latter.

Can anyone be so kindly to explain what is a silence update???

I have not see once ever!!! i always saw apple showing their products on conference, keynotes...whatever.

Thanks ;)

A silence update is when Apple releases a new product without a keynote.
It happened with the early 2013 rMBP, quite more often than you think

A silence update is just an Apple product update that it isn't showed during a keynote but simply the product is inserted into Apple store online. This happened in February when Apple released rMBP with the last Ivy Bridge processor. Anyway I'm pretty sure that it will not be so for Haswell rMBP. We'll see all of them during the next October keynote.

It was supposed to end on Sept 6th but I think Apple extended until they reopened the store on Sept 10th

So is Sept 21 or 22 two weeks from the end of the BTS promotion? I couldn't tell if it ended on the 7th or 8th.

Yup, same French source. We'll see if its corroborated at all.

I'm french and thats just a rumor. anybody know apple will do a special event the 15th or the 22th

well... I'd say that Apple defo do an event with of course the iPad's but also with the new MacBook Pro's... I mean... c'mon... where's the logic behind releasing the new OS "Mavericks" with only the MacBook Airs being able to use the true technology of the new cpu generation and the battery life-time? that would not make any sense... or has anyone got a different opinion?

I'd say mid next month we'll all see new and really nice releases of rMBP's :)

cheers everyone ;-)

Yep...there will be an event. For iPads and Mac Pro at least. I guarantee you half of the event will be about the Mac Pro :D

Coming from the days of 802.11n, core 2 duo, and spinning media those all sound pretty good. But I know better than to buy a first gen machine, and I didn't need a new machine in June. I also considered just replacing my MBP with a cMBP, but I have to learn to let go of old tech. So I continue to begrudgingly wait for Haswell.

I'm also an entitled, suburban college kid who needs to convince my parents that anything less than solid state and an i5 just doesn't cut it in 2013. But at least I understand that asking $1700+ for something that might last 3-4 years is a lot. So I'm saving a little from my part-time job.

well... but the question still stands... would Apple really release Mavericks without their rMBP's updated...? doesn't make sense to me.. they defo will not only release Mac Pro but also their mobile flagship rMBP
