Oh whoops :D. Well Toronto is the largest city in Canada, and I believe the 3rd largest in North-America.

Not to be totally random, but as of the most recent census data from the US, Canada, and Mexico, Toronto is the 4th largest city behind Mexico City, New York, and Los Angeles. Granted my source is Wikipedia which includes Central America and the Caribbean as part of North America. Toronto is third between the US and Canada, and Montréal would be sixth. Couldn't resist since I'm taking an urban US politics class this semester and see lots of population data.

Bring on the 24th!

Don't be bringing that negativity in here man. Repeat after me:

TWEN~TY FOURTH! TWEN~TY FOURTH! TWEN~TY FOURTH!
TWEN~TY FOURTH! TWEN~TY FOURTH! TWEN~TY FOURTH!
TWEN~TY FOURTH! TWEN~TY FOURTH! TWEN~TY FOURTH!
TWEN~TY FOURTH! TWEN~TY FOURTH! TWEN~TY FOURTH!

:D

I want it here as soon as anyone else. Just being realistic here.

Seriously is there any penalty for being wrong about any predictions around here? Or is everyone just playing dress up?

I remember after the earnings call in late-July and no new rMBPs came then, everyone was saying September with a few people shouting for October.

Now we are doubting a September 24th release.

If I'm wrong about a dGPU, I'll change my avatar to something embarrassing for a month. Nothing vulgar or suggestive or offensive. Just a dunce cap of sorts.

I've warmed up to the idea of iGPU only, but I'm predicting there'll be a dGPU.

A lesser prediction is Oct 22 for the event.

Assuming that they are using the Iris Pro 5200, as predicted, I was under the impression that that chip literally did not allow for a dGPU.

Also, since the CPUs with Iris Pro 5200 already costs as much as a CPU + dGPU, it doesn't make sense.

However, if they used the regular CPUs with the 4600 graphics and a dGPU, I'd be pretty happy...but it sounds unlikely based on the rumors available.

When will it end??

http://m.ibtimes.co.uk/apple-ipad-launch-15-october-new-imac-506677.html

iMac, Mac Mini, can't see anything about the Macbook Pro. Starting to think it won't be the 15th October either with the above and 2 iPads likely to be launched.

I wonder what kind of embarrassing avatar picture we could come up with for you.....:D

I wasn't too sure if it was 3rd or 4th, but thanks for correcting me.

Nah, my real prediction is October 24th. I just wanted to join in on the cheer.

Are there concrete evidence that even suggest a rMBP with Haswell in 2013?
Yes I've seen the geekbench test but I dont really count that.

Are we just sitting around, waiting for something that won't show up in october, ending up buying the current model anyways?

Another question, if they dont announce the rMBP in october, is it possible that apple will release it during Q4 13 anyway, or is it then a certain 2014 product?
I.e if you buy a current version in beginning of november, will you then hit yourself if they release the new model in december etc?

I know some people here are "certain" that they will release it soon, but that feels more like hope to me, not based on any facts.

I think it might be on the October 15th for keynote, 22nd for availability.

I do hope after the 4 month delay (since June's MBA Haswell release) Apple is going to pack more than just 802.11ac and PCIe SSD, else the 4 month wait time is stupid.

My wishlist for 13" rMBP (in order of importance)
  1. IGZO screen for lower battery consumption
  2. 256GB SSD base config
  3. 1080p full HD Facetime camera
  4. thinner chassis to match 15" rMBP

Let's hope apple doesn't disappoint.

:(:(

Look at their source here: http://translate.google.com/transla...au-plus-bas-et-un-special-event-le-15-octobre

You can see that it's mainly talking about the iMac because it's shown signs of stock clearances, and it's due to an upgrade WITH the MBP/Mini. That website article on IBtimes is just focusing on iMac.

16GB of RAM as a BTO option and Thunderbolt 2 :D I think IGZO would be great but I wonder if iOS devices like the iPad would get this first, before Macs see it.

one thing to consider.

Given that iris 5200 was designed because of a specific apple request,

IF macbook pro 15 do not use it because they have a dGPU (and hence use a hd4600),

THEN iris 5200 MUST be used on 13"rMBP.

Note that a 15 base model only iris5200 does not yield enough production to justify the investment.

Talk about Major Buzzkills. I'm just riding the wave of highs and lows before each rumored date. The more the dates, the more the kicks. You can stick to your Oct 2x dates and be correct.

I'll live with my cheap thrills. :D

I would hope that the base SSD will be increased, but I doubt it. The iPhone 5S disappointed in this respect, and as we've seen with the iPhone 4S and iPad 4, Apple have just put larger options at the high end of the line and have not increased the base for a long while.

Oh yes, how could I forget about the 16GB RAM BTO option? :D

I don't really care about the new upcoming iPad since I won't be upgrading from my 4th gen iPad, but I do hope the upcoming rMBPs have IGZO

:(

The only good thing about the no show at the last event is the increased possibility of hearing leaks with each new day... still waiting though!

I'm also hoping the new models come with a mild price reduction (-$100?) or a base spec upgrade in ram or hard drive.
