According to the leaked info, the MacBook Pro 2013 will also pack the new Intel Haswell processor, Thunderbolt 2 GPU, 4K screen resolution and a longer battery life.

Yee-Hah! New design and 4k display.

Thread over.

:D

A few publications have alluded to this:

Moreover, alleged benchmarks of the MacBook Pro 2013 leaked online last week. According to the leaked info, the MacBook Pro 2013 will also pack the new Intel Haswell processor, Thunderbolt 2 GPU, 4K screen resolution and a longer battery life.

But where are these alleged benchmarks? They don't show any charts or pages no geekbench scores, where are the benchmarks ??

It just looks to me like all of these sites are repeating what the others are saying without actually seeing the source material (if it even exists) that the rumor is based on.

Right on the subtitle of that article: "The upcoming MacBook Pro 2013 will sport a new design and enhanced features, according to reports."

a new design? now that isn´t expected now is it? or if it is, are there any leaks around showing the new case/shell? what differences can we expect if so?

4k display? i highly doubt it, retina display is already ahead of full HD laptop displays, i wouldn´t think a 4k display, on lets suppose, a 15´inch mbp would make sense, idk.

haswell on cpu and gpu are more than obvious

ps. when do you guys think the leaks will start kicking in?

also, that artcle is full of speculation, repetition of what has been said and doesn´t show any proof whatsoever...

How will this handle Windows 7, if I dual boot? I intended to get a regular macbook because the current retina looks garbage with Windows DPI scaling. Would 4k be better? Say if I emulated 1080, wouldn't it be 1 pixel for every 4, meaning it would look a lot sharper?

Hey guys, I have been waiting a very long time for the updated rMBP 15 with has well. However I hear all this talk of broadwell, it sounds very appealing to me because I could get a more portable 13in instead of the 15. The Only reason I'm getting the 15 in because of the leap in power between the two at the moment. I was just curious if I were to buy the new haswell base rMBP 15 when it releases. How much money lose can I expect to sell it a year later to pick up a powerful broadwell? I also get a student discount. Thanks for your help.

Why don't you take last year's "Used rMBP's"current prices as a reference? I'm sure it will give you some clue.

A 4K display does make sense because Apple is doubling everything so you only get the same physical real estate of a 1440x900 display. All other 15" laptop manufactures are shipping screens that are 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 in real estate which is a lot larger working area. For apple to provide the same physical working area they need to go 4K aka 1920x1200 x 2 = 3840x2400

I hope you guys are right. I want the rMBP as much as anyone in this thread so I hope they release it tomorrow but I think it's unlikely.

I hope it's updated tomorrow, but I think the chances are low.

But I can definitely feel we're getting closer to a release. MAX one month left.

Can't wait to throw my 2008 unibody MB out of the window.

If the MBP supports 4k resolution via TB2 - that would be nice. But having the actual 4k resolution built-in in 13" or 15" seems plain stupid and a waste of our money we would have to pay for it.

I'm pissed because the update takes so long. I'm waiting since May, and following this thread since then.

But if tomorrow brings a silent update, I will be even more pissed.
If they keep us waiting so long, the least they can do is give us an event-worthy update.

But I don't worry. I have faith.
There will be no silent update. We will get a great upgrade, and Mavericks preinstalled. And a secret killer feature.

My inside guy at Apple just came back with some info, and he said the new rmbps will include a retina scanner (eye scanner):D

i think there should be a high possibliity of a fingerprint scanner. I mean, apple should really try to sell the fingerprint ecosystem.

^^^this is indeed the actual rumor...the 4k display rumor I'm sure was derivative of the above.

Why? It's not like they will relate from device to device due to the scrutiny of fingerprint data being loosed in the wild. I personally see no need for a fingerprint scanner on a pc. How many times a day do you lock and unlock it vs a mobile device.

I'd think that if the mbp comes with TB2 it would be announced in an event, not silent refresh.

4K display would destroy the battery life... so I'm gonna hope they don't have 4k resolution.
Retina display is fine... IGZO panel is what I want

well for one, apple is implementing icloud passwords. i'm imagining a day when everything i do is unlocked from my fingerprints and apple automatically creates a hashed password for the website.

the fingerprints don't have to be shared between devices, it's fine having unique fingerprints per device.
