You mean there may be refurbs in stock, but not newly added refurbs (since Friday when you checked)?

I was actually just thinking that the refurb store looked a little bare today. I spotted a 2.6/8/256 on a local classified for $1200 and went to the refurb store to see how that compared, thought it was odd that there were only a handfull (5) of 13" MBPs listed, retina or classic.

I'd think that if the mbp comes with TB2 it would be announced in an event, not silent refresh.
Seriously??? Thunderbolt 2 is exactly the opposite of the sort of feature that Apple like to showcase at events. Apple like to showcase features that are obvious to the least informed users, especially things like thinner, colors, shapes, cute software effects (like rubber band), etc. Faster ports rarely get more than a quick mention.

Thunderbolt 1 was mentioned, 802.11ac was mentioned, USB 3 was mentioned..

anyway, it was just a thought. Sheesh. :)

God I wish I knew when the new rMBP's came out. Plan on selling my old cMBP mid 2010 and getting the new rMBP. Quite curious about the costs, do you guys think it'll be lower then the current prices? (This might have been asked, but I didn't bother going through all those posts).

Well, now I have.:D It seems like a legitimate article, I guess. We've been seeing many reports like this before, perhaps Apple will include IGZO display technology in the rmbp. It all depends upon what scale Sharp is able to produce them on, and I feel Apple would be averse to using only one supplier for their displays.

The article says production won't start until February 2014 so most likely next year the rmbp will carry them but I'm planning to buy a 13inch so it doesn't affect me at all.

I would think the 13-inch would also get some kind of resolution/screen upgrade. I can't see IGZO going solely to the 15-inch model.

Unless, it is part of the show; Mac Pro w/ 6 TB2 Ports - multiple 4K Display capability, 4K TB2 Cinema Display, MacBook Pro w/TB2 connectivity and extensive docking capabilities, etc... But, also thinking October is a-bit too early for all that.

I'm just hoping for a smoother UI this generation, I'm not fussed by an increased resolution - I'd prefer Apple to get the basics down pat.

I have not seen any Benchmarks or leaked parts for the rMBPs since what, July. If these were found last week, you all know we would have been ALL OVER IT as MacRumors or someone would have caught it last week :O

So what do we know will be at the mid-October event? Practically confirmed: iPad Mini w/ Retina Display, iPad 5, OS X Mavericks announced for the public, Mac Pro, possible new Cinema display. So those 4 or 5 things should be enough for a 1 - 1.5 hour event.

The mid-Sept. event had iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iOS 7 and...that's it... With some stats too and lasted about 1hr 20min.

So those three things that are confirmed (iPad Mini+iPad5+Mavericks) should take up the whole event meaning the rMBP would be on a Tuesday before/after the event as a silent release.

Retina iPad Mini is not as confirmed as some would like it to be.
