now this information above is spreading on twitter

It's not spreading. One guy said it.

I just listen to their podcasts weekly

Gee it's almost like you're promoting them.

just a rumor floating around out there

It's not floating around anywhere. One guy posted it on twitter.

One guy with less than 500 followers posted it on twitter. He has a website and podcast that nobody reads or listens to. Seems pretty obvious to me that this "APPLE-FANATIC" user is either affiliated with the site, or one of the owners himself. It's obvious to me that he's just trying to get his website some attention.

I can't imagine any other member of this forum being one of Brian Maxwell's 440 followers and immediately coming on here to tell us all the news, thinking that that was a remotely reliable source. In the process trying to make it sound like viral news and mentioning the site's weekly podcast.

I know and its definitely FUN. It will almost be bittersweet after the Haswell rMBPs are finally released :D:D

I need it like now. Besides waiting since May like crazy, I just got on the beta testing team for an application on OS X. Would be great to test it on a rMBP from almost the get-go.

Count me in as part of the group that is buying right away.

Uh ok. First of all I am affiliated with any damn website and no Im not promoting anyone. I just posted what was said. By spreading, I mean 500 people retweeting the information. Dude dont come for me, unless I send for you. You dont know me and I dont know you. No need to be rude and try to cut someone down on here.

One would think! Damn you mention something and some people go into attack mode!! ITS A RUMOR....people are talking about 4k, 8k, 24K displays on here and we know thats not CONFIRMED!

Exactly. No need for personal attacks over posting something that other people would be glad you did. You obviously didn't have any ulterior motives.

The US Apple Store now has BTO times of 4-6 days, so I'm cautiously optimistic that we may see a silent release tomorrow.

That'd be awesome! I just got a nearly $1600 tuition refund. Good use of my parents' money that they must've overpaid or something. Just need the okay from them and my paycheck to cover AppleCare and taxes :D. After rent is paid of course... Damn college expenses.

Random question: assuming the 256gb SSD is standard in the 13" upgraded model, is it worth it to pay for the slightly faster processor rather than just choosing the 256gb in the base model?

The first question is: Do you need 256GB of SSD? My guess is that Apple will probably retain the 128GB base configuration in order to keep the base price of the 13" MBP as low as reasonably possible.

I don't think so. If you're tight on money, I'd just go with the i5 coupled with 256GB. But don't expect 256 to be the base option.

I think the i7 is only worth it if you really need the power and/or you're already maxing out everything else. Although that doesn't mean I won't go against my own advice!

I honestly think going with 128GB on a Mac is a joke. I would never consider anything less than 256.

I see it, too. Oh please, let the new rMBPs come out tomorrow.

Then again, apple played the same evil trick on us a couple months ago.

It's fine that you need more than 128GB of storage. Some people need more than a TB. I'm writing this using a 2010 15" MBP with a 128GB SSD that has (as I write this) 61.3GB of free space. You're free to think that's "a joke" but it meets my needs because I don't store video on it.

I just view it as me being uncomfortable with 128GB of storage, much like going with 16GB on an iOS device. Even if you don't store much media on there, you're not left with very much space after needing to have some extra space for the SSD to run well.

I just think that's it like buying a toy and then not being able to use it. At least with 256GB, you have some breathing room.
