The new Mac Pro will come with HDMI 1.4, and why would Apple put HDMI 2.0 into the rmbp when their new top-of-the-line computer doesn't even have it?

Some time ago, I tried to determine which version of HDMI the new Mac Pro would have and failed to find anything. Where did you find that it will have HDMI 1.4?

It's so awesome that there are people from all over the world contributing to this MEGA-thread. It seems that majority of posters here are outside the States.

With that said, thought I'd post something to get a fun discussion going as we are nearing the speculated Haswell rMBP release.

Answer the following questions:

  1. Which Country & State are you from?
  2. How much does the high-end (base) rMBP cost in your Country's Apple Store (USD)?
  3. Were the 2012 rMBPs available on day one in your country?

Edit: It appears that they may of been available Day One everywhere
Also high-end (base) model is $2,799 USD in the States

  2. How much does the custom high-end rMBP cost in your Country's Apple Store (USD)?
  3. Were the 2012 rMBPs available on day one in your country?

Good idea!

  1. Oslo, Norway (but currently studying in England)
  2. $3,653.96 USD (High end base model)
  3. Not sure. We're always in the 2nd batch for the iPhones, but think we got rMBP's on day one. (And I'm definitely counting on us getting Haswell on day one!)

3. Yup

Aren't the Macs available on Day 1 for everyone?

  1. Belgium
  2. $3,835,70 USD (High end 15" base model)
  3. Yes

Most expensive on the list so far
But I'm going for the base 15" + 512GB SSD, which would be 3085 USD if I bought it now (EDU discount included). I hope Apple lowers the price of the rMBP or includes a 512GB SSD in the base 15".

I amaze myself about how eager I am to get a Haswell rMBP. How much I salivate for it. Funny thing is, I will use it for web surfing, some Aperture and some Netflix. I lust for one of these and yet I could use my 2012 MBA for the next 5 years for what I do. Must be something in that cool aid. I never wanted a Windows machine this bad (the years before I switched anyway).
Weirdness.

It's the screen! Yeah, my uses aren't that heavy either. But I am counting the days until I can have the rMBP.

So if the event is at oct 15 the invites goes out about a week before?
So we should see invites next week?

1. Bombay, India
2. $3100 our high end is the 16gb 512. We do not have apple stores and hence cannot configure our models.
3. It takes a couple of days to weeks.

The resellers give you an additional 5-8% discount as well.

have someone check Mavericks' OS files/code/plist files see whether new rMBP is added into support list? at least it can give us some hints:confused::confused:

Italy.
1345 eur (with apple on campus) - 13" base model
yes I think

Congratulations, you answered 1 out of 3 questions correctly.
Anyway, the high end model without customisation is € 2.829,00 = $ 3.835,69 on the Italian Apple Store.

UK
$3,678 including VAT (European prices are quoted including tax). $3065 without - since US prices are quoted without tax, this second is more directly comparable.
Yes

Of course converting to US $ means it matters when you ask the question. A month ago my answer would have been $100 less just because the £ rose against the $ in September and Apple prices don't track the exchange rate.
