So if the new rMPB haswell wont be announced in october, can you with certainty say that it wont be this year, so I can go and buy the current with a clear mind?

Nope,
They've released haswell version of the air and iMac
They're planning on releasing haswell Mac Pro
If it isn't October it'll be November, but there's pretty much no way they wouldn't release it this year

So rumours say 4k2k igzo in the next macbook pro....

The question is...how is likely that the new PC which will hit on 15 October will be simply refreshed with has well and in a line-time of few months (4 exactly) will hit a new macbook pro retina on February while the last refresh was in February since now (8 months ago)?

will we be prepared for surprise on 15? With shocking 4k2k ?

I wouldn't expect an update sooner than 8 months apart. That has been the trend for the last couple of years.

So the next update could possibly happen at WWDC in June 2014.

It is somewhat likely that there will be a new Macbook on 15 October or 22 October, and in another 6-12 months, there will be another Macbook Pro Retina released.

I am not prepared for a surprise on the 15th. Shocking 4k2k or not.

Take a deep breath.
Sure Apple could probably continue to sell the Ivy Bridge to the people who aren't following tech news. And maybe even some of us here will buy the next rMBP only to go on Yt and Facebook but frankly who cares? It's their money let them buy the things they want.
I am studying computer science and I'd like to work with the good tools and do some gaming too but I know my computer won't solve world hanger, AIDS and global warming.

Shall we move on? :)

Oh, right. The real reason why computer science freshmen need underpowered but overpriced MacBook Pros is not because they want to run some bloatware (like MS Visual Studio), but GAMING! It's all about gaming! Students need MacBook for gaming and not for studying!

Thank you for your honesty!

Again, what's wrong with the current MacBooks? Apple can perfectly fine sell those during the holiday season. The haswell refresh won't be a big deal breaker- It might even be a huge setback due to lack of a dedicated GPU.

Let's face it, for the average consumer, who buys during a holiday season, it doesn't really matter that much whether there is an ivy bridge or haswell inside. The average consumer buys a rMBP solely because of prestige reasons.

For browsing Facebook and YouTube even 2011 models are perfectly fine. Even for everything "super-mega-professional", like adjusting some RAW values in Photoshop and/or Lightroom.

I'm surprised how well marketing works on so many people.

Comments like "OMG! Next week I'll start college, will be studying computer science... Oh, dear, I urgently need a quantum computer in my backpack for my very first three lines of the 'Hello World' code..." make me question the scholastic ability of such folks.

The latest and greatest rMBP won't learn and write exams for you, you will! And all the other crying babies here with their ueberPRO skills also need to sit back and face reality!

10k+ posts thread is already a meltdown (of sanity)!

you assume that consumers are dropping hard cash and are retarded. i find that hard to believe.

If they release the new rMBP as 'shipping today', how long will it approximately take to buy them in other countries? And by other countries I mean Europe, and in my case, Belgium.

I'm sorry, but I'm not assuming, I know it. It's a fact!

Yes, consumers are retarded and are willing to pay lots of hard cash to buy stuff they don't need, because they never had an opinion in their entire life.

Our daily decisions and opinions are being made for us by the overwhelming marketing and media industry. The spread of premium smartphones among blue-collar is a valuable proof.

That's so funny, yet true. I studied computer science and did the bulk of my work on a used intel pentium 2 desktop. Most CS students think they need something superfast to compile 1 line of code. LOL

If it isn't November, then December. If not December, then DEFINITELY 2014. You heard it here first.

Apple can release any time they wish. 98% of the Apple buying public are not going to jump over to Dell because newer chip sets are not available from Apple. Nor do most know anything about chipsets. Go into store, leave with computer. Easy breezy. Heck, how many tech heads here gave in and bought the 2012 version. I'd also bet that the majority of buyers would not even use all of the power in the Ivy bridge systems. The internal chipset will have nearly zero impact on holiday sales for Apple.
That being said. I'm waitingggggggggg...

I wouldn't say nearly zero impact. I agree it won't have a lot of impact, but seeing how they also silently updated their iMac to another chipset, there is a reason for that. And like you said, we're still waiting. Also for a reason.
Please Apple, give us our brand new rMBP!

the earnings call is on the 28th. mavericks on the 30th? macbook pro updates before then?

Yeah, doesn't the SEC require that they don't release anything until after the investor conference now? Not too familiar with how that works; it seems strange because Mavericks is ready for release in a couple weeks. It's possible that they would release new products on the 29th though, the day after the conference.

Can't agree with you more. You nailed it!

since when? they released the ipad and ipad mini before the conference call

The only compelling reason to wait for the Haswell MBP rather than buy the current model is the expected power savings/battery life. For the iMac, I'd buy the current version and not even bother with Haswell - and save a lot of cash in the process. The performance difference is negligible.

"Please note, we have not yet confirmed this information outside of one party, but if we receive further information and/or confirmation we will update this immediately."

Does anyone know the reputation of this website? I don't know anything about it.

Ive never heard of them before. ALso, since when did Apple have events in November? That close to Thanksgiving in which Tim Cook has already given Apple staff the week of the 25th off.

Kind of odd for them to have one so late in the year...

I went to frys electronics today because I needed to make custom built for a customer and just to mess around with the manager of the PC/laptop section I asked him when are you getting the new haswell MacBook Pro. He said he was given instructions to make space for two pallets of apple products that were coming in the next week but he said it didn't mean it was the MacBook Pro but it was unusual because of the time of the month the pallets were coming. He also told me that on the 10th they will end the 18 month financing for apple products they had since July. I know this means nothing but still it's little hints of hope lol

For college students a rMBP would, in my opinion, be an unnecessary strain on both your wallet and your back. Unless your university has some specific demands for very intensive applications an i5 ULV should be much more than enough. The 13 inch Macbook Air is probably the best choice if you don't need to take many handwritten notes. If you do need handwritten notes (mathematics, physics, chemistry) a Haswell Windows 8 hybrid with a stylus is probably the best choice. OneNote has several advantages over both paper and its Android competition.

The rMBP has many great features, but I think of it more as a luxury product bought because of desire than I think of it as serving any particular function better than its competition. I guess the resolution offers the potential of an enormous workspace on the go, but I don't think many people use it that way.
