Waiting for Haswell MBP Mega Thread

The only thing I have to do is decide on the configuration I am getting, but that won't take long. Plus I always love reading the marketing material on Apple's website.
Well, to add fuel to the fire, here's my latest (MBP-related) discussion topic:
With all the other competitor IGZO Haswell announcements the last week or so, I'm wondering whether the delay in releasing the MBP's to around the end of this month is deliberate -- in the sense that it will allow Apple to "trump" everyone else at the end of the "release season" by presenting a screen with higher resolution than anyone else ("we can't let them take our hi-res crown!").
Even with the same dpi as the other IGZO screen offerings, a 16x10 screen would have more pixels than a 16x9, allowing Apple to keep the bragging rights in their camp.
Soooo -- maybe an IGZO MBP after all???

I can definitely see Apple doing that! I'm hoping they do now! However, if they do, I hope there are no problems like the current rMBP LG screens with IR/ghosting.
Perhaps they may leave it until February. It wouldn't be such a bad idea, that way they can let everyone else have the issues and they can release a 'flawless' version without any of the issues others are experiencing.

Yep. Doesn't matter what it doesn't have. I'm in the process of upgrading tech and will be happy once it's all uniform in usage ability and plays together nicely.

I've applied for a job at the Apple Store before, but unfortunately, when I was offered the first round of interviews, I was unable to attend. (I was going to NY that night) Now I don't even get a reply!
I'd probably say mid-late 2014. Apparently Broadwell is supposed to go into production the end of this year. I could see a June/July refresh with Broadwell and IGZO.
Looks like there will be no Haswell rMBP in October. There is only mention of the new iPads on the 22th of October.

I honestly don't know how people get hired that don't know someone already working their. They told us statistically it's easier to get into Harvard than it is to get hired at Apple. Word of advice, make friends with someone that works there.

I've been saying this all along. Well, for the past two weeks. It just makes sense. For 8 months or so we have been hearing that Haswell is mostly about extending the battery. Then the Air comes out and it's getting 12 hrs. But we all know that the power hungry retina won't get near that. Maybe it will add an hour at best. But if they go IGZO, well there's your 12 hrs. They've planned it this way all along. That explains the long wait. NOW GIVE ME MY 15" MBP with 512 gigs and 16 gigs of Ram and IGZO NOW

I second this. I would literally break my bank to buy an IGZO. Hell i'd even buy it retail price haha, since I already used my buddy's 25% employee discount, it's that good!
