OK, a raise of hands. Who is absolutely without a doubt ordering the second/day they are made available? I know there are some on here who are going to wait a few days, or even weeks.

I'm in the group that is no matter what going to order right away.

I'll probably wait a few days. Make sure i have a handle on all the options. Take time to decide on the options I want. 16 gigs of Ram for sure. 512 gigs of SSD. Yes, but I must examine new prices. Maybe I'll get the 750. Processor speed? Since I'm already maxing out the Ram and upgrading the SSD, does it make sense to just get top model for an extra $100 or so? Will there be iGPU/dGPU option? If so, do I really need it? I will take a few days to digest the facts/truth about what's being offered. Give me time to read what all you guys have to say. I would say 1 week then I'm buying.

I live in Kansas, so it's 8.85% if I have it shipped to me or 8.5% if I go to the nearest Apple Store. My parents live in Maryland where it's only 6%

Where in MN? I lived in a suburb of Minneapolis in high school :)

I work close to downtown msp.

So if there is a 750M option in the 15"

How much of a premium would it be?

Would what rMBPs 15" 750M start at?

Probably the same price structure as the current laptops. But we've been over this umpteen thousand times already back in July and August: the new laptops won't have a discrete GPU. The Iris Pro integrated graphics is as fast as or faster than the 650M/750M for OpenCL and just about any graphics task other than playing games, and the MacBook Pro is not a gaming laptop.

I was wondering how you knew about the iris pro and specifics of the Haswell rMBP. Is there an article up somewhere that you're referencing?

Well the 21.5" iMac with the 750M (and faster CPU) is $200 more than the 21.5" iMac with Iris Pro, so I'd expect something similar.

Does this mean anything?

Hey everyone! I'm new here.

So I was getting ready to return my rMBP base model to get the higher spec'd one. I bought this one two weeks ago Thursday. However, my account says that this laptop is eligible for return until October 17, 2013. Any reason why my return eligibility would be extended an additional two weeks? Possible sign?

I think this is really accurate.
http://currenteditorials.com/2013/09/11/round-two-apples-october-event/

It correctly nailed the date of the event over a month before. And it says the event will talk about iPads mavericks Mac Pro, MacBook Pro and Mac mini, But Not iMac, which makes senses because the iMac was aleady updated.

But the iMac was updated sept 24. About 2 weeks after this was published.

Because of that, and the early accuracy of the date '22nd'

I believe this is an accurate source, and the rMBP and Mac mini will be mentioned at the event. Even If Apple only spends 3-5min for the Mac Mini and rMBP combined.

The Mac mini and rMBP 'refresh' is a lot less significant compared to the iPads and Mac Pro redesign. That's why other articles like allthingsD don't mention it.

The iPads are most important to Apple, Apple's customers, and the media, therefore they will be the highlight of the event.

But that doesn't mean that apple won't very briefly mention that they are refreshing their other macs with Haswell too

Yeah, I see no reason why it wouldn't appear at the event at the 22nd.

OH SNAP!!! Maybe I should go and check the eligibility of a return for mine bought on OCT. 3RD!!

I would agree except that Apple has clearly shown how they value Iris Pro with the new iMac lineup.

They obviously don't think that Iris Pro is a replacement for the 650M/750M or they wouldn't offer the model with a 750M as a $200 upgrade. Out of all of the iMacs, Iris Pro is only offered on the very base model.

When did you get the laptop in your hands? Exact date?

Exactly.

Now lets stop this nonsense. We don't need to start this BS debate AGAIN!!

Lol somebody's obviously jealous.

Well I am glad Apple is doing an event, seems like the community is reenergized, it's funny how hopeless everyone was until about 3 hours ago total 180 haha so awesome.

mmhmm.. :(
lol

Yes this thread is revitalized.

Hmmm...this prediction from Sep 11 nailed the date AND speaks of the MBP release - http://currenteditorials.com/2013/09/11/round-two-apples-october-event/

"The Mac line has not been forgotten, as the late-2013 editions of the Macbook Pro and Mac Mini will be announced during the event, according to our sources."

Welcome to 3 hours ago :p

Yeah, I know. It's kind of crazy that nobody even saw that.

Probably because at first glance it just seems like someone blogging about their predictions for Apple's fall plans (in terms of how the website looks and the fact it isn't a major name). After all, have you ever heard of this site until today? I certainly haven't. But I really think they may be on to something based on these couple of points (and yes, I realise this could all be a coincidence and they just happened to be correct thus far) which Mattsasa so nicely typed out:

I think this is really accurate.

Sorry, no MBP's in October. According to an inside source, I've heard that MBP will not be released in October. The October 22nd event will showcase new iPads, Mac Pro, and Mavericks. From what I understand, they want people talking about (and buying) the Mac Pro and iPads. The MBP will be released around Black Friday in November.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
