I would agree except that Apple has clearly shown how they value Iris Pro with the new iMac lineup.

iMac doesn't have to worry about power savings.

Apple has shown that battery life is a priority, and Iris Pro sips power when compared with a GeForce.

Sorry, no MBP's in October. According to an inside source, I've heard that MBP will not be released in October. The October 22nd event will showcase new iPads, Mac Pro, and Mavericks. From what I understand, they want people talking about (and buying) the Mac Pro and iPads. The MBP will be released around Black Friday in November.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I got an idea.....

Shut the **** up!! ;)

I nominate this as a concrete indication to Haswell rMBP's being announced on 22nd. Sweet, time to return mine too trololol.

Not sure if you're being serious.

I'm questioning whether or not to go swap it out tomorrow or not.

I Hate to say it: Doubt they will announce a new refresh after reading the 22nd Event being all about iPad. Wait till Early 2014???

I'm with you. I sporting this ghetto-ass laptop literally being held together by butterfly clips because I pulled the metal frame up - this was back in Feb in my excitement to get rid of 'that crappy laptop'. I have over $7000 of Apple money just waiting to be spent in my ING account and wish apple can hurry up and release the damn kraken.

Maybe the reason I'm so realistic and not buying into any more rumors is I have been fooled many times.

These days, I'm just expecting the worst - which is nothing. Don't expect anything this month or even this year. If it happens, be happy and place that order.

Agree with you. I have being waiting since WWDC for the 15 MBP with Haswell and nothing.

WOW all these noobs. 2012's event was set to be all about ipad and it included iMac, Mini and 13 retina.

So people without a clue need to....

If Apple does not release the rMBP on the 22nd...

They can **** OFF

Can I get a "+1"?

Hmm, hopefully extra delay means that it will be more than just a haswell update.

No, it said it will be iPad centric...meaning that will be the focus but there will be other things. Given the less than revolutionary update to the MBP's, they won't need much time to discuss it. If they are talking about Mavericks, they'll discuss the MBP's.

2012 wants to talk to you. Apple does not mind sharing the iPad's spotlight.

Does student discount apply to refurb?

Nope.

Probably the same price structure as the current laptops. But we've been over this umpteen thousand times already back in July and August: the new laptops won't have a discrete GPU. The Iris Pro integrated graphics is as fast as or faster than the 650M/750M for OpenCL and just about any graphics task other than playing games, and the MacBook Pro is not a gaming laptop.

I think that is the best scenario. And what is what will probably happen. Haters gonna hate, though.

That's a shame then. It'd be really stupid for me to buy a new MBP right now with that in mind. Thought I'd be able to knock an extra couple hundred making it $1,400.

I'm sorry but who said the whole thing will be about the iPad? Considering the new Mac Pro is launching with Mavricks, doesn't it make sense to refresh the whole Pro lineup?

Apple store is down.
