because ipads and mac pro are new products and macbook pro only a refresh one

Yes, but while it is only a spec boost like the imac (likely) it will add to the feature list quite extensively with a much better battery life so more akin to the MacBook Air than the iMac.

Guys the apple store is down (directly from apple.com support page) "for updating" so it's very likely that something new is coming.

HOWEVER this something new will not probably be rMBP but, instead, Mac Mini.

Of course I HOPE to be wrong, but I do not expect it.

Strange because the apple store went down in wednesday, not in tuesday.

My hopes are up. The one thing that makes me skeptical is if it was released it would have mountain lion on it, right? I would think maybe apple would want to hold off until it ships with mavericks for some reason.

I'm going to put my money on a Mac mini or some new ads.

I confirm (from the same link):

"The Apple Store is being updated and will be back soon".

Guys be happy if rMBP comes out in such unexpected way but do not expect it!!!

Apple just pulled CNET's pants

I really dont think we should take what AllThingsD said as a sertain.
Cos what they are saying is:
"The focal point of the gathering will be the latest updates to the company’s iPad line, but the new Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks will likely get some stage time as well, "

So in other words they dont know at all.
They know that it will be a iPad focused event, but they also know that wont be all they talk about. So they say the 2 most likely candidates for mentioning on the event, which is the Mac Pro and Mavericks.

And the reason for that is cos they are the only 2 confirmed releases for this fall.

Do you get my logic here?

I really feel this is how it is, and im really not saying that just because im waiting for the rMBP. It just makes the most sense if you read between the lines and dont take every word as the law.

So can we expect a new rMBP on the 22nd or not?

For me the 22nd October event looks quite stuffed already. It's also strange that the source didn't even mention the rMBP. Also my 3 years "experience" on macrumors indicate me that there won't be a release in October.

Is there any source for "probably no release" in October? This threat is quite biased, we always try to find the positive signs neglecting the obvious.

Nevertheless it's quite frustrating that there is now updated rMBP yet, especially if you see what the competitors are doing over the last weeks.
