Nope

Yeah, that sucks for me, since Windows is gonna look like ass on that retina resolution. Wouldn't be so bad if the screen was 4k but any less and I'm gonna have a bad time.

Windows 8.1 now scales to Retina resolutions.

Is there anybody around here who is still of the belief that there won't be an announcement re Haswell rMBPs at the event?

I'm 100 percent sure there will at least be an announcement. I'm prepared for nothing more than Haswell, better battery life, faster ram and wifi and TB2 USB3.

Oh, and moving from a 2009 17inch down to a 15 inch retina... Will it be frustrating?

Honestly..I tried my friends 17 inch MBP during the christmas semester and getting back to my 15 inch was a relief..You'll be happy with the mobility overall - Plus your performance boost is gonna be great

I doubt it. There is no question in my mind that a 17" display is more pleasant to work with, but the portability penalty is HUGE. I have an older Dell 17" that is effectively as desktop now, as it weighs a ton and is awkward/bulky when moved about.

Full disclosure: I'm a large screen fan, and the 15" MBP I'm using is the smallest I ever want to go -- i.e., I find the 15" size tolerable/workable enough for daily use in order to have a truly portable laptop. I believe it likely that you will find the size/portability compromise of a 15" to be acceptable, too.

Me! Not because I don't want it, I desperately do. Until it's billed as a rMBP event, I would not expect anything. I've done the funky voodoo and even looked at release dates over the past years for MBPs, but I'm still pessimistic. A lot is due to the fact that I've waited since February and believed every.damned.bogus.claim from the one that shall remain nameless with a name beginning with K.

At this point if Apple can't announce a new revision for the rMBP in time for the holiday season they very well should consider, IMO, to wait until 2014 at some point where supply chains are more stable, as well as there's more traction on 4K and IGZO.

That's just my opinion. I think they will anounce a revision though, even if it's just an update to Haswell, ac wireless and 1080p camera.

I had a 13" retina macbook purchased in february. Can anyone tell me what kind of graphic improvement i would get with Iris? I wasnt completly happy with it as it didnt make me feel like I would be able to keep the device for 5 r 6 years. (before that, i had a 2007 Macbook Pro 15" that i kept for 6 years, now given to my dad and still workin fine!).
Also, i'm thinking about going today to the apple store and purchase a random 15" retina, just to "try" the size. Do you know how does the 14 days policy work? can I just give it back wit no reason and then take a new one. Is it gonna take 6 weeks to get my money back?
Also, I note that people seem to only expect a spec bump similar to the iMac or Mba. But isnt it weird that it's taking so much time for Apple to upgrade the Retina mbp?

Yup, you can return within 14 days. No questions asked. I think someone could definitely be happy purchasing the Haswell rMBP and keeping it for a long time, where as the first-gen rMBP will quickly become outdated I think.

Honestly, I don't know about everyone else, but I feel pretty good about buying the Haswell rMBP. I do plan to upgrade more than the average user, but after seeing how long the Haswell rMBP release has taken, who knows when we will see the Broadwell rMBP.

Tim Cook definitely likes to take his time and wait until things are absolutely ready.

Thanks! I'm not sure I'll keep it 5/6 years like my previous device (at that time i was a student and i didnt have the choice), but it's always good to know you can still sell or give it to a relative after a few years.

Surprisingly, Apple has been very good at keeping secrets when it's about Macs. I havent seen any leaks about the retina mbp, the Mac Pro or the thinner iMac. When it's about iphone or ipad, we all know what it's gonna look like.

Ain't that the truth!

I waited for the new 2012 iMac. I'm waiting for the new Haswell rMBP. I'm waiting for the iPad 5... And I just got a new iP5s, although that wasn't really a wait. How did my cycles all match up for this year? Perhaps all my machines are women??? Jk:D

Damn, that's a lot of Apple products.

iphone, ipad, macbook and imac.. Wow you're really buying this joke that there is one product for each need. It's like having ten times the same picture on the wall with 10 different sizes..

One iphone, one macbook, nothing else matters ;)

Words of wisdom ;) My hopes are way too high for Tuesday. I'm going to have an out of body experience if the event goes by and there is no mention or release of the Haswell rMBP's

Thanks. It would be pretty tough on all of us, although who knows what GSPice might do:D.

I went ahead and blocked out the 2013 predictions by month to give us an estimate of what Kuo was thinking. Obviously he didn't chart these out by the pixel and just threw in the dots... but maybe it might give us some insight on about when we might see some of these products roll out. Apple TV update didn't happen. But Macbook Air seems to be pretty close.

rMBP would fall around the 15-25th of July based on this chart.

I dont think any of us are looking for an iPhone roll out or even an ipod... but who knows.

I said it before and I'll say it again, I just have a feeling that Tuesday, July 16th we'll see something (rMBP alongside BTS). But that's just my own opinion.

Oh I was such a young innocent soul back then.
