Damn, that's a lot of Apple products.

Phone: Personal use, main camera and tethered to computer at work for wifi (which is where I am now!). Data is unlimited in Japan at a very cheap cost and Tethering is free for two years.

iPad: Personal use, plus I travel a lot and I use it for work on a weekly basis.

imac: Home use and bedroom TV (27").

MBP: work machine (my job allows me my own computer and my own connection -- and travel). I use it for content creation, writing and previously video editing (not anymore though).

The good thing is I can claim all of them on my taxes.

iphone, ipad, macbook and imac.. Wow you're really buying this joke that there is one product for each need. It's like having ten times the same picture on the wall with 10 different sizes..

One iphone, one macbook, nothing else matters ;)

Don't be so limited in what you use your equipment for. Just because you can't imagine I have numerous usage patterns, doesn't mean they don't exist. Each one has a particular use that is better at certain tasks than the other. I work in different fields, I travel a lot, I create a lot. Luckily, I can afford it.

*raises hand* Me.

what??
I mean how is that possible to you? There's no more stock in the shops. Apple even offers to trade the 2011 macbook with a retina (which means they are clearly tryin to get rid of them). And there has never been such a long cycle !
We've got a lot to cover, clearly means that there is a lot to cover! Or tim cook is gonna talk abt ipad mini and ipad for 90min?
And why would a computer company decide not release a high en computer for a year? It's like the fifa not organizing a world cup.

If you ever had any doubts...

I really don't understand it. Unless these doubters can actually provide logical reasons, which they have not.

Oh wow. Madam, you are still a pup. Try working with 4kb memory (Yes, that's Kilobytes).

And we had to build those machines ourselves. Using butter knives, ice tongs and toothpicks. Outside. Nekid. In the snow.

The pup I let pass but don't call me Madam!
And don't forget the 20mile walk through the snow to get the parts. :D

Well when the WSJ reports Apple will release something, they're usually right.

I really don't understand how much proof people need. Seems some on here want Tim Cook to hand them the Haswell rMBP on a gold-plated platter!

But anybody who really at this point still thinks it's not coming on Tuesday, then I really don't know what to say.

Well it's not about the money, and I reckon that an ipad is better than an iphone to read the nytimes, that the mcbook is better than the ipad create content rather than consume content,etc.. It just wouldnt feel right to me to have so many different devices.

But maybe i'm just glorifying the Macbook cause the wait has been so loooong.

Yeah I know, it seems very likely that Apple will release it on Tuesday, but I guess it's just hard for some people to accept that they will be released on Tuesday after all we've gone through.

maybe they want it even more than us, and dont wanna be disappointed any longer so they expect the worse. Or maybe they couldnt wait and got the current model.
Went to the apple store the other day and saw so many people buyin ipad mini and ipad retina.. I felt sorry, and i'm sure they wouldnt be happy to hear about a significant upgrade comin so soon for the very same price.

They can always return or exchange it.

So, you are agree with me...? But you still felt the need to have a small dig at me for having 4 different devices instead of the arbitrary "2" you decided were enough.

No worries. Now you know!

Do you mean an announcement or availability? I still feel that availability on Tuesday is too optimistic. On the other hand, the people who are saying February 2014 probably have a first-gen retina and just don't want to be outdated.

Both.

Optimistic? How so?

It seems like judging by those inventory leaks the macbook is more likely to be out Tuesday than the iPads

Actually i dont agree at all. But this is not the thread for such discussion, and it would be quite a silly discussion too. Some day someone will tell u that in addition to what u got he also owns an ipad mini and an apple tv and an iwatch. You might think why 7 different devices instead of your arbitrary "4". I guess it just never ends!

Which mcbook are you getting this week? I still havent decided !

Funny thing about releasing news iPads alongside a Haswell rMBP, since I will likely ditch my iPad 3 if I can get a hold of a laptop with a great screen and battery life. The limitations of iOS are so frustrating. Dell hasn't released the XPS 15 in my country yet, so it's possible that despite M3800 leaks in July Apple might make it over the finishing life first. Still, I want reviews for both before making a decision.

Yeah, that sucks for me, since Windows is gonna look like ass on that retina resolution. Wouldn't be so bad if the screen was 4k but any less and I'm gonna have a bad time.

Windows 8.1 takes care of that

Who is getting pumped?

I repeat:

Who. Is. Getting. Pumped?

just got enough funds ready and my Air ready to be sold. i'm pretty excited.. also would be happy for everyone here who's been waiting.

The Mavericks GM has been out for a while, so the rMBPs will probably come with it, but it wouldn't make sense to have them available on the same day unless they also immediately put Mavericks on the App Store. Since Lion and Mountain Lion came out on Wednesdays, it could quite well be at least Wednesday, maybe Thursday before the rMBPs are available, depending on the time that they put Mavericks up.

Even so, that's only a few days. Not a long wait at all. When you say 'not immediate availability', people take that to mean a few weeks.

2-3 days is pretty much immediate availability. And if I can just order online Tuesday, I'll be happy.

Indeed it would be a silly discussion because you posted without thinking first. Oh, and I didn't set the arbitrary number, you did. 4 works for me. If seven works for others or two works for you, then what do I care. But this seems to trouble you...

Oh and to keep on topic I'm getting a 15... Is that okay with you or perhaps I should get the 13 because you don't think I need it! Jk:eek:

Alright 36 hours!
I'm guessing that right before the event will be around 13250 posts, and by the end of the day up to 13500

There was also that new GM build today. As a worst case scenario, if that had critical bug fixes for the new rMBPs, it could take a week or two to have that installed.

Yeah, I don't see the big deal. I just said damn that's a lot of Apple products, but I can't see why the other poster is bothered by how much you have.

For me, I would never need that many and it'd be useless. But that's me. Everyone has different usage scenarios.
