There was also that new GM build today. As a worst case scenario, if that had critical bug fixes for the new rMBPs, it could take a week or two to have that installed.
A bit random, but related, question - do usually the new laptops hit the stores all over the major markets at the same time, or just first in the US and later on to europe / australia etc?
Any idea if there is still lag in Safari on Retina MBP? Has Apple optimized Safari for rMBP yet?
Windows 8.1 takes care of that
Same time, as far as I know. Australian availability is usually the morning of the day after, but then, the events are 4am in this time zone.
The Mavericks GM has been out for a while, so the rMBPs will probably come with it, but it wouldn't make sense to have them available on the same day unless they also immediately put Mavericks on the App Store. Since Lion and Mountain Lion came out on Wednesdays, it could quite well be at least Wednesday, maybe Thursday before the rMBPs are available, depending on the time that they put Mavericks up.
i am 99,99% sure it will happen tomorrow. Does anyone know what time the event begins in eastern european time zone (+2gtm)? I can't really check right now.
What will the mavericks update bring?
Now it's 1:11:11

I can survive with Mountain Lion for a day if it means having my rMBP that much sooner!!!
this Is still really tempting!

Thank you. You sure it's 19? The iPhone event was at 20(I live in Bulgaria). Too bad I won't be able to watch it live(I am on German course) I will just check what had happened here.![]()

Indeed it would be a silly discussion because you posted without thinking first. Oh, and I didn't set the arbitrary number, you did. 4 works for me. If seven works for others or two works for you, then what do I care. But this seems to trouble you...
Oh and to keep on topic I'm getting a 15... Is that okay with you or perhaps I should get the 13 because you don't think I need it! Jk![]()
IMO, some of the improvements in Mavericks are so badly needed in Mountain Lion that they should be released for free as bug fixes. I'm talking about retina display lag and multi-monitor full-screening. Still, I think Apple's strategy of yearly, cheap upgrades makes it hard to justify not upgrading. It's just a bit disappointing that they make us pay extra for such basic fixes.

I think it's safe to assume that if the rMBP is available before mavericks they won't charge us to upgrade.
I was more meaning that I could function with ML's issues for one day while waiting for Mavericks. I desperately need the hardware. I think I can tolerate lag for one day, and I don't use external monitors.
Finally just one day left!
