I wonder how it's going to be like in this thread during the event tomorrow. Going to have both the live blogs and this thread open, people here are going to flip out once they reveal the next rMBP  :D

Brings up another question, on which website will u follow the live blog?

Flip out if released - cry if not. Tough situation. I badly need a notebook. I really hope there is a new one.

Regardless of whether it's released, I'm doing both. Flip out in excitement, cry for having waited so long for Haswell MBPs OR flip out for having to wait longer if unreleased and then cry in a corner of my room at 3 in the morning.

Typically the waiting-for topics quickly die out as folks move to the news topics.. though I hope it won't happen to this epic thread quite so quickly

Will retina MBP become the standard tomorrow?

Looking at the chart by Kuo,
the 4Q shipping numbers indicate he thinks it will...

really really really really hope tomorrow is the day. i currently do not have a notebook at all, my current one **** itself a few weeks, and i need one ASAP so this would be perfect. life is torture trying to only use my iphone and my mate's computer to browse the internet :(

How much time?

Let's say that tomorrow at 18:30 GMT apple announces the updated rMPBs saying that they are available to buy now. How much time is it needed to arrive to stores in the UK? Do they have them pre-stocked and release them when the announcement is made? Is it faster to order online and have it the next day or it worths going to an Apple Store (most of them close at 20:00 in the UK) the same day and buy one?

Take a deep breath :)

Last time when I've ordered an MacBook Air (2012), it got stucked in Kazakhstan due to weather conditions and I've received it 2 weeks later. I didn't know at that time that the online orders ship straight from China...

I am looking to get the 13" rMBP and hopefully will see it released tomorrow.
I've been reading this thread for the last 3 weeks, if it wasn't for you guys I would probably have an Vaio Pro 13" by now. So, many thanks for that!

Take a deep breath :)

I was at the apple store last night and asked them a similar question but as it pertains to that local store.

Answer: 5-10 days

They rarely get product the same day it's announced if available that day. The only time they do is if it's software. But now that's all MAS. So that doesn't even apply anymore.

Can't wait to post on this thread USING my new Haswell Retina !

So do I. +1
Although I will be taking it in January... But I will play with it in the APPLE store until then. I will be probably taking the 16 GB; 256SSD I have an external drive for bigger files. I won't take it if it doesn't have more than 8 hours battery and discrete GPU.

Just had a very brief interaction with Anand Shimpi (AnandTech) on Twitter about the possibility of a discreet GPU in the Haswell rMBP. I know this has been an issue of concern for many of us, but at least Anand seems hopeful in the inclusion of a dGPU as opposed to Iris Pro only machines.

The whole "Mavericks got another Golden Master" thing isn't a good sign. They'll want to release the new MBP with Mavericks preloaded on it. If the definitive GM is only available right now, they won't be able to ship with it tomorrow.
I'm surprised at all the "will they release it now" questions, as a few pages back the pundit sites were all repeating some source saying a Friday (10/25) release after tomorrow's announcement.

Same here; the flagship store in Regent's street is open until 9pm, I'm wondering if they have will have it in stock tomorrow night. Has anyone asked/does anyone know?

Finally two rewarding weeks are to come..eventhough I've got a big essay test it wont break down the fact that we got the Apple Event tomorrow, :)eek:) and the almighty Battlefield 4 release to finish of october in the best possible way
