They will ship with Mavericks

I would like this to be the case however I don't think they will. Its purely down to logistics in the production cycle. We have to assume that if the Haswell MBP is available to ship this week then production must have started some time ago for them to build enough stock. Added to this is the shipping time to get the units to the distributors and shops ready for the rush and you end up with a reasonable lead time.

GM builds of Mavericks are available but unless it was ready prior to production of the MBPs then I cant see how they would easily get the new OS on there without unpacking, installing and then repackaging a lot of machines.

I am expecting a release with the current version with a free upgrade to the new one at release.

Personally I hope you are right and I am wrong though as it would be nice to have the new OS on their straight away on launch day :D

13"
2.4/4/128
2.4/8/256
2.4/8/512
2.8/8/512
2.8/16/1tb

Why do you think Apple would go backwards and offer a 4 GB RAM configuration when they don't right now? There are two base choices right now for the 13", with CPU & storage upgrades available:

2.5 i5/8/128 (CPU upgradable to a 2.9 i7)
2.6 i5/8/256 (CPU upgradable to a 3.0 i7)

Intel has four Haswell processors available with the Iris 5100 iGPU, all 28 watt TDP. One is an i3, so there's no way it'll show up, especially considering it isn't even offered on the MBA. The three that remain are:

i5-4258U is 2.4
i5-4288U is 2.6
i7-4558U is 2.8

I'm hoping for the option of 16 GB of RAM as well, but I'm guessing it'll only be on the high end model or BTO.

I hope Apple will go like the Air and offers only 2 CPU and 2 SSD options:
i5-4288U is 2.6 with a BTO option for i7-4558U at 2.8.
SSD base at 128, BTO at 256.
8GB base RAM, 16GB as BTO option.

That would be nice. However I'm thinking that Apple goes with the 3 processor options.

I'm going i7 regardless. But it would be nice to see a 256GB SSD offered as base.

I think you are off on the SSD options. The base model 13" rMBP currently has 128 GB right now, and the better model has a 256 GB. Both are upgradable to 512 or 768.

I can't see Apple taking away the 512 and 768 options. It's possible that they will replace the 768 with 1 TB.

I'm hoping the 13" mirrors the current 15" and uses 256/512 as the defaults, but it seems unlikely.

I think he was talking about the base models. But even if the 13-inch gets 256 as base, no way will Apple put 512 in the high-end base model.

He specifically said BTO for 256 MB. Doesn't sound like base model to me.

I think we'll see two (13") base models still:

i5-4258U @ 2.4 GHz (BTO i7-4558U @ 2.8 or less...)
8 GB RAM (BTO 16 GB)
128 GB SSD (BTO 256, 512, or 1 TB) If we are really lucky, this will be 256 base like the current 15".

i5-4288U @ 2.6 GHz (BTO i7-4558U @ 2.8)
8 GB RAM (BTO 16 GB) If we are lucky, 16 GB on the base model, like the 15", but doubtful.
256 GB SSD (BTO 512, or 1 TB) Again, we might get the 512 GB like the current 15", but seems doubtful.

BTO? What does it mean?
24:46:00 LEFT. :)

Does using 3200x1800 require a re-design of the casing? Since the aspect ratio will be different.

Thank you. Doesn't anyone else wish for a resolution bump like 3200x1800? THat DELL XPS 15 sounds really tempting...

I would love to see a 2880x1800 screen on the 13", and a 3200x2000 or better on the 15", but I really doubt either will happen. I'll be very happily surprised if I'm wrong.

3200x1800 is a 16:9 screen, and there's pretty much no chance of Apple deciding to move to 16:9 from the 16:10 screens they use now.

That Dell XPS 15 also doesn't have Mac OS X. I think next year will bring resolution upgrades.

Nah, both Windows and Mac OS X work for me. But I just want to try something new so that's why I am going to take a rMBP. :)

Is there anyone using WP8 and rMBP? Does it sync good? Any problems? I have LUMIA 920 and I love it...

Based on what I've read from multiple sources, we are looking at a very high probability that tomorrow is the day for the announcement of the MBP's. However, I tend to think it all stems from a single source and the various outlets are regurgitating the same info while maybe massaging it a bit to their liking. This is simply my observation but I feel pretty confident about tomorrow.

I don't feel confident about tomorrow, I feel absolutely sure.

I hope for increased native Retina resolutions but don't think that's in the cards for this year, even if the displays happen to be IGZO.

I'm pretty sure Apple could get any display it wants 'cut' to 16:10 with their purchasing power.
