It's hard to take you seriously when you make statements like the bolded ones.

Its meant to be light, the bold is mostly in reference to what others have called Tim Cook, marketing words for the retina macbook pro, etc. The iPad is in the lead compared to other tablets.

Yeah the Haswell iMacs were a surprise too. Like the whole double down on secrecy thing applies to Macs but not to iPhones & iPads it seems.

Indeed, much better secrecy when it's about Macs. Is it because medias are less interested? (before I found this thread, I thought i was the only one caring about a new rmbp, cnet, engagdet and other websites havent written anything about it..). Is it because it is, by definition, the "oldest" team within Apple and corporate feeling is much stronger? or is it because it's not as easy to steal or whatsoever as an ipad or an iphone?
Cause no one had any clue of what the MacPro would look like until Apple gave that preview, and we havent felt like that in a very long time. Remember when Steve jobs started to talk abt an ultraportable device with ssd, and then takes it out of the envelopp, that was cool.
Hopefully same thing happens in the next event !

And no, I wont get disappointed. Cause even if it's just a tiny spec bump with better battery, i already had a rmbp and I just loved it.

Arrival time in Canada

Possibly a silly question, but if rumours are true and the new rMBPs hit the stores as suggested on the 24th/25th, would we see them in Canada at the same time, or is there a delay?

My trusty old 2010 died a couple of weeks ago so I'm hoping that the timing all works out for me.

Hmm, the fact that there hasn't been any leaked SKUs is a worry. Perhaps there won't be a new rMBP tomorrow. Early 2014 is worst case scenario, though, IMO.

There will be, no worries. 8 month after the last refresh are over. Apple works like a clock. Very predictable. New MBP every 8-9 month. Now is the time. Today is the day.

Last time when they released the Haswell MBA, it took a week when it showed up @ the online Apple Store :apple: here in Mexico.

Could be the same this time, idk maybe

Apple releases are simultaneous in the US and Canada. (Except when dealing with content distributors ie. iTunes Radio)

Only true for the cMBP. The rMBP is within the regular cycle of the MBPs.

None of this is true, actually. First off, you have the tail wagging the dog. The release schedule is driven by Intel releases much more so than anything on Apple's side. Second, if you really consider that joke of an "update" in February—a 0.1Ghz increase, and that's it—to be part of a "clock"-like schedule, well, I want some of what you're smoking.

My last second predictions for the 15":

EOL cMBP
No TB2

Same ram/SSD base configs
Slight price reduction
IGZO

I know I'm really going out on a limb there, I guess we'll see soon.

In any case I have to give credit to Apple who has really tightened up their leaks. They must have really threatened the supply chain or something.

Time to go to sleep and get ready for the big day tomorrow! I can't wait for this thread to be obsolete.

We did reach 12.000 post yesterday before the "invitation announcement", and it was just about 25h ago, and we're at 12.250, so, it's like 250 post per day, but ok, let's say that most of those 250 post was about the excitement of the invitation, let's say around 80 of them, so, we have a rate of 170 per day, in other words, in 5 day we can "easily" do 850 new post, and by the last day, I think we probably hit around 300 post (normal plus excitement post) so... I will bet that we will reach around 13.400 post by the moment of the event :)

Looks like I did made a good prediction! And as far as I see, we're going to have by far more than 13.400 post! =D

I just want a Haswell cMPB or at least a price-reduction on all rMPB's if it won't get a spec bump. If neither of these happen, I'll most likely just cry a little and buy a refurb rMPB. I can afford a rMPB at the current price-point, but I honestly don't see the value in it yet. Maybe tomorrow will prove me wrong and some nice features will be added to the new Haswell rMPB's. I've never purchased the first-generation of any Apple product. But I might be sold on this, just like I was the iPad 2.

This leak just in: They are going to "redo" the laptop. It's going to be a 24x15 inch flex display that rolls up like a map. You're all welcome now get some sleep.

I know that WSJ's reporting new rMBPs and they're pretty reliable, but if there's no mention of the rMBP or a silent update tomorrow, when is the next possible release date?

Only true for the cMBP. The rMBP is within the regular cycle of the MBPs.

Check the buyers guide!

No one here considers the October or February updates to the rMBP to be true updates. All they did in October was move some of the high end specs down to the lower end models and reduce the price. All they did in February was bump the CPU's slightly.

This means they've not really received an update a proper update since June 2012.

Agreed. The frist release of the 13" was overpriced so they tried to fix it.
Someone said space grey rmbp.. that would be great !

I don’t think anybody has even tried to look for leaks. Truth be told, nobody besides us really cares. OSX products are a small piece of Apple’s pie these days.

I'm actually more excited about the Mac Pro if it's ready. The Mac division needs a home run. (No, I can't have one. Mrs. KB said so. :()

Thankfully, I'm the one at home deciding everything about tech :D if I want a new hifi, I buy a new hifi. If I want a Mac Pro, I buy a Mac Pro :D just have to pay it myself  But I'm going laptop only! That's why I'm buying the 15 inch.

So you have to get control! :D

Final Prediction for tomorrow:

- New iPads (retina Mini and iPad 5)
- New iPads will have touchID

- Mavericks will get official release on 10/30
- New MacPro Pre-Orders (wont ship until ~mid Nov)
- New Macbook Pro Pre-Orders (Wont ship until ~mid Nov)
- MBP will contain Haswell, Wi-Fi AC, IGZO, integrated GPU

It's been fun all! :D Let's see what happens tomorrow on :apple:mas
