What you call innovation I call updates :p

So what did Steve do that was innovative in that case? You can't seriously call Cook out for no earth-shattering products in two years. It was six years between the iPod and the iPhone. How are you getting this opinion?

And even then, I bet you'll see a lot of computers in the future that are like the new Mac Pro. If that happens, that's innovation. The new retina macbook pros meant that competitors brought high-res laptops this year. So now the market for laptops has changed. Has that slipped past you?

Can we get to 14k posts in little under 10hrs? Since we know it will be a "little spec bump", posts count intrigues me more :D

Iris Pro performs a little worse than the 650M in the current rMBP. In some games, they have about the same performance, but the 650M wins in graphic intensive games at high resolution.

However, where the Iris Pro shines, is in OpenCL performance (in e.g. Photoshop), where it outperforms the 650M. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but uses Photoshop and other OpenCL-enabled apps every day, so Iris Pro would be the best choice for me.

AnandTech has made some benchmarks comparing the Iris Pro in the 21.5" iMac with 650M in the rMBP, but keep in mind that the iMac has a 5400RPM hard drive, and rMBP has an SSD. So that may have a little influence on the charts: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7399/...review-iris-pro-driving-an-accurate-display/3

Thanks it's very clear.
I'm not a hardcore gamer, so i certainly dont need it. Thing is, I had a wii emulator on my previous rmbp, and surprisingly there was a bit of a lag. It wasnt a big deal, but you just expect more from a device that costs nearly 2000usd.
Also, we keep on comparing Iris to the 650m, which is fine cause it is a proper benchmark, but we must keep in mind that Iris in the rmbp doesnt exist yet (hopefully in a few hours!:)), and the 650m is last year's product.

It seems there will not be 17inch MBP Haswell. :(
Can`t sell my good old 17inch Early 2011 MBP :( But i dont have enough money to buy the second new 15inch MBP

For the high end option of 13" is estimated under i7-4558u or i7-4900mq
(note both haswell)

The first one is newer than the second one so that runs the logic apple puts that cpu in the rMBP 13inches.

But after reading many reviews and comparisons i realized that second one is such powerful than the newer.

What about the possibilities of apple wondering perfomance instead of latest update for line macbook PRO? It would be logical, isn't it?
(bearing in mind im talking both haswell and the difference between them is just a quarter)

I am Swedish. Live in Korea. Will fly over to Japan to buy my Haswell Macbook.

Japan gets their stock before Korea and I'm not good at waiting.

Yes, but Intel makes the CPU's having Iris Pro, and they're already benchmarked.

Regarding 650M, the 650M in the rMBP is overclocked by Apple. And since the 7XXM series are just overclocked 6XXM GPU's, I don't expect huge performance gains.

Your 13" rMBP had a HD4000 which is really bad. So no wonder why your emulator lagged :D With Iris Pro, it'll definitely be better.

But yeah, in 9 hours, we'll know EXACTLY what to expect :D

All I want is the 13" with 256GB SSD / 8GB RAM / i5 for the base price or a few bucks less. Please make this happen apple!

Good night peeps.
Tomorrow we shall celebrate or cry.

we will celebrate -and- cry. That usually happens with new release. They always leave room for improvement on the next update, like the ipadmini could have gone retina from v1.

So you're sayin that whatever i choose, it'll be a big improvement from what i had. That's a great news. Then i wont get too greedy and will just get a 13". It would be great if they put 256gb on the base model.
If they dont make it space grey, I'll paint it myself!

But the 13" probably wont have Iris Pro :) Just "Iris", but that's also an improvement, but not like the Iris Pro is.

Seems like a fair test to me. The iris pro unit in the benchmark is probably the same or very similar one that is going to be used in the rMBP. And it can't even compete with last year's 650m. The 750m is a small increase over the 650m so the gap widens a bit more. DGPU all the way for me. I would never spend that much money on a computer with igpu, especially one with lower performance than a year old model.

I actually wish apple made Iris pro only rMBP around the price tag of current cMBP. All I really care about is the battery, screen, looks and whole macbook and the maverics.

Hello fellow Swede! Funny thing is that i've also got a friend who lives in Korea but he's not getting the new rMBP (what are the odds anyway).

after 8 months of waiting I'm really hoping the haswell retinas come out tomorrow. My old laptop not really all that old a hp dv6 from 2010 has extremely poor battery life at only ~20-30 mins and for the past 2 weeks I have been getting thermal shutdown every day even though I have cleaned the fans and changed thermal paste. Just cant wait till I can say goodbye to my extremely loud and useless hp dv6 and goodbye to Microsoft although I will still have to use my acer aspire one everyday for my classes at least the school provided it for free. As soon as the new Retinas come out I will be smashing that buy button so hard that I couldn't care less about the money.

guys, what does it stand for:

Crystal Well
and
Haswell

What is better? I guess Crystal Well has Intel® Iris™ Pro graphics 5200 ?

The Apple online store is still up at 5:45 AM EST. And rMBP's are still shipping within 24 hours. Apple is really keeping its cards close to its vest :D
