The 13" rMBP only offers 16GB Ram in the high end BTO model. $2699 for a 2.8/16/1TB sounds too much for me........ so it will be a refurbished in 3-4 months!

No it doesn't. You can BTO any of the 3 models to 16 GB of RAM. The "good" and "better" models are stuck with 128 GB or 256 GB SSDs though. You cannot upgrade the SSD except on the "best" option.

$1599 for 2.4/16/128
$1699 for 2.4/16/256

If you game, and money is no object, then the new 750 > old 650 > new Iris Pro.

So your saying to go with the new one? how do I pick the 750? I am in the store and it seems I can only upgrade the processor memory and storage. I dont see graphic cards... maybe the store isn't updated enough?

Hey! You 15" users knew the dGPU would probably be a BTO option so stop complaining about mortgaging your homes and raiding the kids' college funds. Just be glad it's still there. :)

That said, it's a good day to be a 13" user. TB2 was just a nice bonus. (And I still don't care if they shaved off .04 inches).

Anandtech: Get some MBP's and have at it!

I will be ordering very soon, but taking my time to review my options before I rush into a purchase.

Trying not to get overwhelmed by all the configurations. Definitely different than I expected. Nice to see the 1TB option, though.

The options are quite limited though - 2.3 or 2.6. 512 or 1TB. A bit disappointed that it was not 768, but then again, I was hoping for 1TB, just not the price.

Why cant I add a dGPU onto the $2000 15''!! KMON APPLE!!!

It comes with it:

2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7
Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz
16GB 1600MHz memory
512GB PCIe-based flash storage 1
Intel Iris Pro Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M
with 2GB GDDR5 memory
Built-in battery (8 hours)

Just to make sure, the dGPU is on the 2.3 proc system, right?

Hmm, looks like no dGPU option for me.

how do I pick the 750?

You can't select it individually and don't need to.

2,0Ghz -> Iris Pro
2,3Ghz -> Iris Pro, 750m
2,6Ghz -> Iris Pro, 750m

There are no other options. The choice of CPU automatically determines the inclusion of the 750m.

The discrete GPU only comes with the 15" model in 16GB DRAM / 512GB or 1TB SSD configuration.

I stand corrected ! :rolleyes:

Mmmm, is it worth £330 to get the 1TB drive?...I reckon it might be given this machine is meant to last a fair while.

so it's cheaper to have a 13" that got lighter, with more battery and with 512gb, than the 15" entry?

iris pro and 750M in one device? I'm surprised.

Me too, but I guess they were hoping to get users to make the leap, since it's a higher margin product.

You have to go with the higher-end configuration. It isn't a BTO choice.
