Minecraft is usually somewhat difficult to run so You may be able to get around those frames. Counter strike you can get 40-60 fps on ultra. And around 80 on high. L4D2 I can't get benches on but might be around 40 on ultra. If you play these games above 1366x766 you're not going to be able to play on ultra.

thanks, i will play on 1440*900 so i think i am ok.
i read somewhere that iris pro only meets the minimum requirement for csgo so i was a bit worried.

Intel graphics are always shunned for "barely meeting minimum requirements" but they fair quite well in games (at low resolutions) as long as the game doesn't "block" them. Fall Out 3 wouldn't let me play the game because I had Intel HD graphics. I had to run a spoof saying that I had an NVidia card and I was able to play the game in all medium graphics...lol

If you start with the cheaper 15" 2.0/8/256 model you will have Iris Pro only. Even if you BTO and upgrade the Processor to 2.3 or 2.6, you do not add the GT 750M.

If you start with the 15" 2.3/16/512 you get both the Iris Pro and GT 750M.

It's possible to start with the 2.0/8/256 and BTO upgrade it to 2.3/16/512. It will cost the same as the higher end base 15", but you don't get the GT 750M by doing so.

So it's not possible to get a 2.0 GHz CPU with the GT 750M. Nor can you get less than 16 GB of RAM or 512 SSD.

Bottomline, ME293 is Iris Pro only, and ME294 has both?

Available for Pickup in California too!

Well, now I'm regretting buying this thing if I could have gotten it today. It seems like I'm the only one who's getting the 2.3 with 750M on Monday. Everyone else is either getting it tomorrow or on Friday, even though I ordered on the same day as everyone else.

I did change the shipping method at around 7PM so maybe that's the reason for the extra delay for me. I wish I just left it alone or paid for expedited shipping when the store came back online yesterday.

We are both in the same boat. I actually went by the Apple store just now on my way home to pickup an incase sleeve and I asked if they had them in stock and they did. I asked if they could change my order to instore pickup they said no since it is already 'prepared for shipment' - I blame the confusion yesterday where the stores told me they didnt know when they would get them so I placed the order online.

What apple store did you visit? I have calling all around socal this morning, and no one but northridge has them in stock.

Just picked up a 13 inch 2.4 8 256gb config at Towson Town Center Apple store in Maryland. Got it up and running, estimated time left on battery is 4hr at 80%. We'll see what happens at the end of the day.

For the 13", which processor should I get ?

Using Lightroom, After Effect, Premiere Pro, etc for time-lapse processing in RAW.

But is there really a difference between the i5 2.4, 2.6 and i7 ?

I'm already taking 16GB of ram.

Thanks guys!

You bought a stock machine. Why not cancel your order and just go pick it up? You can even select in store pickup from apple.com

I bought 2.6 and 1TB so I have no option but to wait.

I called about 2 and 1/2 hours ago to multiple Chicago area Apple Stores and all of them do NOT have their shipments of Haswell rMBP's yet!

I hope they get them soon so I can pick one up on the way home from work!

Also, if I would like to get an EDU discount in store do I need any proof in order to get the discount? (I actually am a student but did not bring my student ID to work!)

Cool, do you see any image retention issues ? I don't think there should be any on the 13" regardless of display panel....

I showed my EDU work badge in store when I bought one a little while back. I think online is the "honor system"

In store purchases need proof that you're a student.

Waiting for Haswell MBP Mega Thread

Yes you do but if you can show them that you can log in to your school account, they will able to give you the discount without a school ID. That's what my brother did and they accepted it.

Nothing wrong with the display as far as I can tell, but it may be too early to say. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase. Hopefully the battery life will be as good as apple has stated. Any one else with the 13 inch? How is your battery holding up?

I provided my son's school e-mail addy, and that was good enough for the local store.
