well it looks like i will be getting my iphone 7 before new macbook pro

just going to the apple store on saturday for iphone 7 black 32 GB pickup.

Guys. This is just more of a sign that new Macs aren't coming out 27th/28th. If they can update a website with shiny new graphics for a ****ing watch and some bands, I'm sure the same amount of marketing would be created for a redesign of the MacBook Pro, heck, even a normal invite style banner or something.

I literally have no idea when these new macs are coming out now. Maybe because we're not seeing coffee lake till Q2 2018, Apple could technically release a MacBook Pro in Q2 2017, so the refresh could still be a year away from then allowing Apple to sell MacBooks for a year.

According to the leaked roadmap for Intel, regarding the 13" MPB, kaby lake 28w processors will be out halfway of Q1 2017, so I see them releasing a redesigned mbp 13 and 15 at Q2 2017.

Sorry folks, that's just my opinion, but in my head it seems logical.

Does it, really? Maybe you should have a lie down.

I swear three quarters of this thread now is just people jumping to irrational conclusions based on things entirely unrelated to the release of new Macs.

"Just saw a picture of the Apple Watch on Apples website, oh noes no new Macs for five years !!!!!"

"Apple Watch Nike+ being released on 29th, its a sign about new Macs !!!!"

Apple updated their website, 28th Oct for the new Nike Apple Watch...new Macs on the 27th almost confirmed!
I could definitely see an event prior to the 28th to talk about the Watch, the new Macs, and the Airpods. It's getting ridiculous at this stage though, if there's no event then I think I'll just get the present ones.

I still think the event will talk about new Macs and 4K Apple TV. I can see the watch and Airpods being mentioned, but only a little as those products were already highlighted at the iPhone announcement.

Oh absolutely. With the amount of updates to the Mac product line we're expecting they'll be a footnote at most I'd expect, but mentioning their availability brings more attention to them and prevents people from having forgotten about them by highlighting their availability.

We're getting dangerously close to breaking the space-time continuum. October 27 is an ominous date indeed.

Yes indeed:

Rumoured, based on the specs from wikipedia:
- 2015 launch
[...]
I also think that this will be the model where dGPUs and Apple will part ways in notebooks. I don't think we'll see a dedicated GPU, even as a BTO option.

What are your thoughts?

My thought: let this thread die and open a new one after the broadwell regeneration comes.

So no Broadwell?

Yeah, Haswell is the most recent refresh. You can order one now. (note: page 1, Oct 26, 2013)

LOL

This is just more proof that they won't reveal it in October. If they are attending this event (FCPX), they won't have time for their own.

Christ..

Its the Final Cut Pro product team attending an event on the Apple Campus. The presentation is an hour long how on earth did you reach the conclusion that that will prevent them from having their own??

If anything it unlikely that they will announce a new version of Final Cut before the new hardware is released.

apple needs to release the following to get all of the naysayers off their backs (although apple could care less):
macbook 13, 15
redesigned macbook pro 13, 15
macbook air 13 for the low price point but don't really care if they are obsoleted or updated

That's it. So honestly all they had to do in four years was redesign a macbook pro. The macbook 13 and 15 they already have the reference design. Don't tell me that it's that hard to do, because bigger computers would be even easier to cram stuff into, and lesser companies have no problems churning out two sizes.

I would buy whatever they're releasing instead. I discussed this with my money, and it doesn't want to wait any longer. I can't force it to stay with me. It just want to leave. Nothing I can do.. :(
Thanks for this funny way of telling how your money is reasoning and demanding action. It is kind of familiar... Anyway, again thanks for this laughable post in this loooong thread in these hard times for us loyal Mac-users who have impatiently waited for sooo looong nooooow....

I've been monitoring this thread not because I plan to buy the Skylake macbook pro (especially not if it has that flat keyboard.) Instead, I've been planning to buy the current mbp at what I presumed would be a deep discount AFTER the release of the new one. I am still running my trusty early-2011 15", so any newish machine would feel like a huge leap, right? Now I'm starting to worry that it has been so long since the last update, that even the last pre-skylake mbp will be far from future-proof. My needs aren't ultra-intensive, but I use a pro machine for A/V editing and processing images and text from old newspapers (edge case I know.) As software and MacOS evolve to match the new machine (if it ever comes out) I wonder how quickly a 2015 vintage MBP will fade... any thoughts?
