Rumoured, based on the specs from wikipedia:
- 2015 launch
- Chips will use the 14 nm process node. Expect some decent battery life
- Support for DDR4 memory
- Support for PCIe 4.0

I also think that this will be the model where dGPUs and Apple will part ways in notebooks. I don't think we'll see a dedicated GPU, even as a BTO option.

What are your thoughts?

Pretty funny to look back on the original post... and how far the rumor have come since then.
I really do nope it's not a USB-C only notebook, that would be a bit excessive. I don't need, nobody needs 4 USB-C ports and no SD card reader. 2 USB-C is just plenty, add SD, 3.5, and magsafe and you yourself a great notebook that moves all of us into the future. Really hope that pic of the 13 inch was BS.

I hope not, it will be just like PowerBook to MacBook Pro transition all over again, though the Should I wait for G5 Powerbooks? thread never reached the dizzy heights of this one. :D
What? The G5 Powerbook isn't coming? :D My G4 17 inch PowerBook was one of my fav macs ever..even if the little rubber feet would always fall off.

Ok, I feel stupid here and maybe it has already been answered but how do I know if it is dGPU versus an iGPU?

iGPU = Intel HD/Iris Pro Graphics - if its made by Intel it's iGPU. Integrated into the CPU.
dGPU = Nvidia or AMD Graphics Chip - if its made by these two, its dGPU. Discrete, has its own chip. Thus more expensive, but more powerful too.

Stick with iGPU, if you're not doing GPU extensive tasks.

So how powerful is the typical dual core on past Macbook Pros? I ask since there are a few games that I'd like to play (nothing too CPU or GPU intensive) like Civ 6. I just hope it can handle it.

Civ 6 will be fine if you play on low

Well I finally had another Mac dream; been a while since the last one. This one consisted of me attending the event, only it wasn't a big public event, it was a small presentation inside an Apple Store given to only a select few elite (including me of course). Before the presentation even began I caught a glimpse of the three new models: two ultra-thin "Z" models, the 13Z and 15Z, and then a thicker 15 model. All three were available in jet black or space gray, though I didn't see an OLED bar on any of them :( Woke up before I could see more of the presentation.

I woulda woken up to some wet shorts if I had that dream.

Was Serban there to present the three models?

Really hope they offer 1TB SSDs at reasonable prices...currently have 512GB 2012 MBP and its filled...but paying $500 extra for a 1TB SSD is pretty steep. Id be fine with a 768GB option as well, but haven't seen apple offer that in a while.

Pretty sad that HD capacities have not changed much in the past 4-5 years. (not to mention well prob be stuck with 16GB of ram again).

Don't worry, Apple won't change the disk space or ram. They have us by the balls, and we know it.

Do any of you guys consider The Razer Blade?

I replied to a similar post on Reddit, but the trade-offs Razer has made to get those specs in that chassis are such that Apple won't do it. They run hot and loud. Apple doesn't care about gaming enough to be OK with shipping a machine that is loud in a traditional business or classroom setting.

I had both the 2014 and 2015 Blades when they came out, and ended up returning for those reasons (they claimed it got better with that newer generation, but it was the difference between a Boeing and a Cessna taking off), as well as generally poorer quality control than I experience with Apple.
