Hello! I hesitated and finally I think this touch bar really useless for me. According to you what is the best configuration for performance:

13-inch MacBook Pro (No touch bar)
2.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.4GHz
16GB 1866MHz memory
256GB PCIe-based SSD
Intel Iris Graphics 540

(Vs)

13-inch MacBook Pro (With touch bar)

3.1GHz
dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz
16GB 2133MHz memory
256GB PCIe-based SSD
Intel Iris Graphics 550

The prices are quite close and the touch bar is not important to me, I just want to have good performance to use photoshop, illustrator and web development...

To all those that waited the many months (maybe years) for the new rMBP, are you satisfied? Or has Apple priced you out of the game? I for one cannot justify the price and will not be picking it up, even though I had planned to.

I'm disappointed, yes. I was expecting 512 GB as base model. I was expecting 32 GB RAM option, I was expecting better dGPU, and I was expecting Iris Pro 580. Got none of that.

I'll still be getting it, and it will still be much more powerful than the last MBP I had, but it's a bit of a let-down. I think the length of the delay was part of the disappointment. We all thought the delay was for really important components that hadn't arrived, because Apple "only goes with the best", but no, the delay was because it took them 2 years to develop the Touch Bar.

If they had put the best CPU / memory / gpu in this thing and charged $500 more I would have been fine. Can't help but feel cheated with what they did, they lost $2500 from me.

I bought the 15" base model, as I had planned. I'd be lying if I said I'm not grinding my teeth about the 256gb right now.

2.9 i7 / 256GB SSD or 2.7 i7 / 512GB SSD? Both are same price.

Does anyone else think that this is a stepping stone to a MBP convertible or at least full touch screen? I know people on here seem to hate touch screen laptops, but I got to take home an XPS 15 for a couple weeks and actually grew to really like the touchscreen. I'm thinking of buying one of those or an OLED X1 Yoga and seeing what Apple comes up with in 4 years in the next redesign. I have a feeling that this Toolbar will become outdated quickly (or it could also be amazing, I'm kind of 50-50 on it).

No. I don't think they'll ever put full touch support on the Mac. This touch bar is what you're getting instead.

I don't know what to make of it. The machines are nice, although I'm not sure I would ever really use the touch bar as part of my work flow and the UK pricing is insane.

I'm stuck with OSx due to iOS development but i've got a 5k iMac which is my main work machine. I actually think the 13 inch non touch bar version would be most suitable for what i'm looking for but I'm still trying to decide if I can justify it at that price.

They priced me out. I was going to get a 15" model. But they increased the price, while keeping the same (freaking 256gb...) storage and ram. The base 15" is €2699(!!!) here in The Netherlands, which is insane if I'm honest.

I'll keep my Air for another year or two and see how it goes from there.

I am really disappointed and not sure if it's worth spending that much money.

In terms of battery and using multiple displays, is Radeon Pro 460 worth the upgrade?

For accessories I'm thinking I will only need a USB c to USB a adapter

I only need to plug in a flash drive and external hard drive for my mac.

Have we discussed why such the long delay on receiving our new macs? Why 2-3 weeks? Why not available to ship right away?

I'm actually a bit puzzled here. The US dollar is up against a lot of currencies lately, so for those of us outside the US, there's a double hit of prices up, plus exchange rate.

BUT... pretty much everything inside the MBP is made outside the US. So why are the prices up so much in USD? Surely this was an opportunity for them to at minimum hold steady and soften the blow on the rest of us.

This machine was likely supposed to be released in May of this year (spec wise), but they delayed it due to Polaris and the TouchBar. Now that it's publicly disclosed they can have developers that aren't close to Apple config their software for the TouchBar. Immediate thought would be Google (Chrome) and Microsoft (Office) products.

even after the prices I immediately ordered the 13in 16gb ram for $2k. however. I'm not happy. during the entire keynote I was amazed. I was literally saying that these computers are perfect. then the price hit me. and it keeps on hitting me. I can't believe that I spent $2000 on a 13in laptop. sure I had around $2.2k to play around with but I was expecting max $1700 (after my upgrades). if the $1799 price included 16gb of ram I wouldn't be that mad but it didn't. I'm truly disappointed. actually considering canceling my order right now. idk how I'm going to live with myself for the next couple of weeks after spending so much on one thing. and how I'm going to feel owning such an expensive device.

the unfortunate thing is that I'm a student with a laptop that is literally about to turn 10 years old with a display that works 40 percent of the time. I don't think I could wait out another year for the eventual price drop and minor performance increases in gen 2.

i7-4870HQ 2.5GHz - 12620

I7-4980HQ 2.8GHz - 13530

i7-6700HQ 2.6GHz - 11416 (new)

i7-6920HQ 2.9GHz - no benchmarks yet

Again, take this as you will.

####ATTENTION####
News from the factory that the previous rumor of the 13'' of NO OLED 13'' MBP is TRUE.
The leak message of the worker said that the 13'' MBP will come with two versions one is NO OLED the other is with OLED and the 15'' ONLY HAVE OLED version.
And what's more the event will be on 27th in the so called insider's message.
And the track pad won't support APPLE pencil and there will be an unknown update of the screen on new MBP!
Hope this time the rumor is right.... X__X

It's quite interesting how accurately VISLAN on Oct 10 pretty much predicted this thanks to Chinese forum rumors. And you all still believe we here in America are the most likely to receive rumors? The whole damn supply chain where millions are produced are near major Chinese cities. Yet most of you called him Serban and the like...

Shipping slipped to 3-4 weeks on all configs.

Has anyone called to change the order? Will it affect ship time (literally ordered within minutes)? Really wanna yolo and max out my config, regret not doing so.

Yea I can't disagree, I waffle back and forth as it sounds like i bought the same model as you. I just wanted to lock in my order, perhaps I'll cancel, perhaps I'll receive it and cancel within 2 weeks, who knows. I don't particularly see a Windows 10 laptop that excites me in any way however, except the Surface Book - however it appears to be even more expensive ha
