They should outsource the computer division and allow anyone to license macOS and put it on whatever machine they want. That should tip things back in terms of market share.

;-)
That would be the death of Mac hardware. Apple did that years ago, and they were weeks away from being bankrupted. I don't agree with licensing the OS. Other issues with that idea is the close integration of software and hardware that apple enjoys, that would go by the board because the OS would need to be written for the lowest common denominator, much like how windows is.

Maybe something will happen? But the US page work well when I check it.

I don’t know about the rest of you but the amount of time I have spent on MBP 2017-2018 related threads and the productivity I have lost over the past 2.5 years have a big negative impact on me. If no MBP 2018 by tomorrow, I need to try other manufacturer. I HATE Apple now.
The difference for me, is I have the luxury of time. I have an iMac that does everything I need, and 2012 MBP that still handles a bit of what I throw at it, though, it's over due for an upgrade.

I enjoy the banter, discussion and opinions, as that's helped me immensely, It seems a release may be imminent but it doesn't appear to include a new keyboard design. The links in the last few posts of this thread report a spec bump, w/o a major update to the keyboard.

"Apple calls it a “third-generation” butterfly keyboard, but the main change between these laptops and the last generation is that they’re quieter. We got only minutes (and no more) to interact with the new hardware. So at best, I can tell you that the keyboard does seem quite a bit less clacky than current MacBooks, though key travel is the same."

Great news except: No non-Touchbar version of 15'' :(

And the nTB 13'' version isn't getting any updates, just lower prices.

Now of course, let's not be stupid. If you're on the fence between 8G and 16G, get 16G. If a 30% performance boost is around the corner, and that performance is meaningful to you, by all means wait. But for the majority of people, I would argue that future proofing just ends with them spending more without gaining anything at all.
That’s what I call future proofing.

Say on average memory usage goes up just 5-10% or so per year, that means that memory usage may go up as much as 25-50% after about 4 years. If you need 6-8 GB now, in four years you may need 7.5-12 GB.

so how these starting prices compare to the 2017 models? i wonder if they keep the old prices, or they did cut 100$

Anyone have confirmation of the following yet (website not fully accessible/updated)

- Have battery capacities changed? edit: Capacity has been increased by around 7watts
- Has the web cam been improved (Notice no FaceID mentioned)
- Any changes to the touch bar at all?
- What is the dGPU?

"Starting at $1,799 and $2,399 respectively, the updated 13-inch MacBook Pro models with Touch Bar and 15-inch MacBook Pro models with Touch Bar are available today"

So the same prices?
