Losing/refusing respect for someone because they use a particular piece of software?!I don't respect anyone who uses Instagram
Wireless charging works a bit like induction cooking. How in gods green earth can these things be related?
It's great. My car doesn't have CarPlay, but I have a vent-mount magnetic Qi charger I pop my iPhone onto for Maps and music. I'm already juggling a bunch of other crap, and may get in/out of the car multiple times an hour. Being able to just place my phone securely onto the dash with one hand means one less thing to futz with. It's "a couple of seconds" that occupies both hands and more of my attention than I care to spend on something that is so easily solved with the mount I have. What is the point of wireless charging? To save a couple of seconds that it would otherwise take to plug in a wire? Taking that couple of seconds to plug in a wire will save several minutes or even hours because wired charging charges the phone much faster than wireless charging.
But you respect those who drive a BMW? 🤔The overheating issue I could care less about (I don't respect anyone who uses Instagram) but this seems like a pretty serious glitch.
Most older beemers don’t have wireless charging pads.iPhone 15 and an iPhone 15 Pro here with a BMW iX3 and an i4.
No issues so far.
Could this be older BMW models that are causing the issue?
The specifications do exist. That doesn’t mean that everyone makes sure to fully comply with them, unfortunately. It would seem that there would need to be an industry standard ensuring that USB and fast charging setups work in a similar way and do not cause issues. Perhaps someone will say this already exists - in which case it isn't working!
Exactly, I wonder if BMW used cheap parts for the wireless charger, as my phone does not overheat on the Apple wireless charger, just the darn BMW one. We should all complain to BMW about this. Maybe a software update can fix? Or they should do a recall.I haven’t had this issue but the BMW wireless charger is garbage. It heats the phone so much that the phone stops charging. Not surprised to hear that it can actually do damage.
Yeah, strike the “4”, I’m just seeing “iPhone 1S” there.Just checked, Apple doesn't sell a 14S.

A big time saver. Not to mention saving a ton of wear and tear on the port. Ports are a weak point. They can loosen over time with regular usage and are an ingress point for dust, debris, and moisture that can render them useless or cause internal damage if the seals inside are compromised. It's safer for the device as well. If you forget your phone is attached and pick it up to use it, MagSafe just breaks contact and you're good to go. Not the case with old-fashioned wired charging. It's great. My car doesn't have CarPlay, but I have a vent-mount magnetic Qi charger I pop my iPhone onto for Maps and music. My car (Toyota) has a wireless charging compartment, and very welcome it is, too. I only use it on long trips, but no messing about with cables is required. The only real downside is that it is not MagSafe. I suspect the charging rate would be better if it did have MagSafe. What is the point of wireless charging? To save a couple of seconds that it would otherwise take to plug in a wire? Taking that couple of seconds to plug in a wire will save several minutes or even hours because wired charging charges the phone much faster than wireless charging.
This looks like an issue with BMW, not Apple, unless most wireless chargers are doing this to iPhone 15 models.Everyday some news about something else being wrong with iPhone 15… almost the same with iOS 17. Apple’s quality getting worse.
I’ve used wireless charging on my iPhone 14 Pro all year long and sold it two weeks ago with 97% battery health so I’m not afraid of using wireless charging. For what it’s worth, my iPhone 14 Pro Max battery health dropped to 88% in a year and I never use wireless charging.
I’m pretty sure it’s mostly iPhone users who became disillusioned with Apple over the years, even if it’s still the lesser evil compared to Android/Google. Gotta vent your frustration somehow.Couple that with the fact that many Apple haters (I.e. Android people) love to post and exploit any Apple issue like it’s the end of the iPhone.
Arguably it’s still known as Twitter.I’m starting to think this should become X’s official name. Every article anywhere has to remind us that X used to be called Twitter.
