HA LOLYeah, strike the “4”, I’m just seeing “iPhone 1S” there.

not coincidental. I had this happen to two separate iPhone 15 Pros in the first week after launch. both had issues after using the wireless charging pad in a 2024 BMW X5 M60i.There is a chance it is all coincidental and simply the chip just dies for whatever reason.
What is the point of wireless charging? To save a couple of seconds that it would otherwise take to plug in a wire? Taking that couple of seconds to plug in a wire will save several minutes or even hours because wired charging charges the phone much faster than wireless charging.
Are you getting "Hold near reader" with the cards you already have added and the terminal does not react? Or does Apple Pay just spit out an error and your cards disappear?not coincidental. Don't know about BMWs, but in my Hyundai, the wireless charging pad also has an NFC reader so you can use a phone or keycard to start the car in place of a ket fob. Maybe BMW has a similar setup and theirs somehow burns out the NFC antenna in the phone. How in gods green earth can these things be related?
No, the motorcycles don't; nor do older bimmers such as my e24.Most older beemers don’t have wireless charging pads.

Which is of course illegal in many countries whilst driving.
I suspect this might be related to the fact that a lot of wireless chargers also have the remote start feature which uses NFC.How in gods green earth can these things be related?
Well, wouldn't it have happened to the previous phone models then?..Might be heat; which then kills the NFC chip
For users? Basically the single advantage wireless ever has. No wire. Wired everything is better than wireless anything in terms of reliability, price, performance, etc etc etc. Just that pesky wire.
Maybe not as they had a better heat conductor instead of titanium.Well, wouldn't it have happened to the previous phone models then?..
Not for passengers and only while driving for the driver. Same idea for the non-car wireless chargers- it’s cool but really, not necessary and actually limits your use of the device in order to charge.Which is of course illegal in many countries whilst driving.

I charge my phone wirelessly 99% of the time. Not for passengers and only while driving for the driver. Same idea for the non-car wireless chargers- it’s cool but really, not necessary and actually limits your use of the device in order to charge.
I never pay cash for a car. I use a check. Carrying around that much money is a bit nerve wracking. Why I always pay cash!
Lol. Well technically I pay via wireless transfer from my bank. Nobody accepts cheques over here anymore. Not for decades.I never pay cash for a car. I use a check. Carrying around that much money is a bit nerve wracking.
Exactly. This year is a big joke...We're looking at either different chip positioning or poorer heat conductivity.
This problem will realistically be solved by throttling down the wireless charging. As if it wasn't slow enough.
