The overheating issue I could care less about (I don't respect anyone who uses Instagram, I always uninstall Uber after I use it, I don't play freebie games with in app purchases, etc) but this seems like a pretty serious glitch. Been using iPhone 15 Pro since launch and havn't had any issues!
LOL never mind how ignorant your first comment is, imagine actually uninstalling an app after every time you use it. You're living in your own world.

Never had a Starbucks in my BMW.
Haters gonna hate I suppose. Whether it’s Apple or BMW.
I've owned BMW's over the years, and have no problems with them. I guess people need to be sensitive about their vehicles I suppose.

Only value of wireless charging is not having to plug a cable. You have to put the phone to a standard place anyways.

So, instead of wireless charging they should make the place like a dock where we can easily insert the phone and it connects the usb-c plug to the phone. With this:

- usability high
- problem solved
- charging speed blazing fast
- easy to upgrade
- and no risks of frying some nfc chip or whatever.

If you have an iPhone 15 and drive a BMW, it might be best to avoid charging the device with the vehicle's wireless charging pad for now.

Over the past week, some BMW owners have complained that their iPhone 15's NFC chip no longer works after charging the device with their vehicle's wireless charging pad, according to comments shared on the MacRumors Forums and X, formerly known as Twitter. Affected customers say the iPhone goes into a data recovery mode with a white screen, and the NFC chip is no longer functional after the device reboots.

In an iPhone, the NFC chip powers features like Apple Pay and digital car keys. Affected users receive a "Could Not Set Up Apple Pay" error message in the Wallet app, and there does not appear to be a way to fix the problem. Some customers say Apple replaced their iPhone after confirming the NFC chip failed, but the replacement iPhone is then vulnerable to the same issue, so there is currently no permanent solution.

While complaints so far have come from iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max users, it is possible the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are also affected, so owners of any iPhone 15 model should proceed with caution until this issue is sorted.

It's unclear what the specific cause of the issue is, how many customers are affected, and which BMW models are affected. We've reached out to an Apple spokesperson for comment, and we'll update this story if we receive a response.

You're buying the car wrong. You're using it wrong. You're holding it wrong. You're casing it wrong. You're charging it wrong. You're coding it wrong. Which apple excuse did I miss for their failures😁

My father in law just got a brand new 7 series. I’ll see if he had any issues with this

Oh no! Now those people are going to have to take that extra two seconds and tap their cards against a reader! The horror! Oh... the bloody horror!

That’s so funny. Well not funny at all really. You’re about the fifth person to quote that comment made 10 years ago by Apple when they launched the iPhone 4. So current and refreshing!

What is the point of wireless charging? To save a couple of seconds that it would otherwise take to plug in a wire? Taking that couple of seconds to plug in a wire will save several minutes or even hours because wired charging charges the phone much faster than wireless charging.
You don't even save a couple of seconds. You still have to align it perfectly and wait for your phone to say charging whereas with a cable you plug and leave. Truly a useless tech and the only people defending it are the ones trying to justify overpaying for it when they could've just paid for a fast charger instead for much cheaper. Now if they made the MacBook style magsafe charger but much smaller in size, that would truly be revolutionary. No more broken phones from tripping over a cable

Wonderful. Now I have to worry about my iX breaking my 15PM. The 15 really feels phoned in. First time I have felt this way and I have owned every phone Apple has made! Step it it up Apple, this isn’t the experience I paid for!

Not in my car you don’t. It just goes in the slot. No aligning whatsoever. A cable would never be as quick. Also a fixed USBC port like a dock also wouldn’t work universally. Different phones are different thicknesses. Do you use a case? How about using an older iPhone? Or your work phone or kids phone? Wireless is just more convenient.

Lmao. Tilted dock. Thickness problem solved. That's how simple life is. You're working overtime today trying to make yourself feel better for overpaying for broken tech 🤣
