Only reason I’d consider the ultra would be the extra battery life. With that said, aesthetically speaking the S8 is a beauty.

Personally I like the hefty weight of the SS watch over the light weight titanium. My Series 4 has held up very well against scratches for almost 4 years now.

The S8 is a lovely looking watch. I can't imagine many people buying the Ultra unless they are going to be using it primarily as a fitness device.

For the people concerned that their wrists are too small, are they smaller than the SMALL band measurement? If they offer a small band option, shouldn't it be "appropriate" for smaller people? Or, just a matter of taste I suppose ...

What do people consider looking ridiculous?
Would wearing shoes 2-3 sizes bigger look ok to you? That's kind of the same with a too big of a watch.

I train three times a week but I'm not buying the Ultra for that. I want bigger and brighter and a battery life that lets me go from two Apple watches to one. Plus it'll be nice to look at something different on my wrist for a change.

I am a little concerned with dings and scratches as I've always had every series in black DLC up until the last two years with Graphite PVD and never had a mark on any of them. Would have been nice to have it in Black DLC but there we go.

Can the ultra be worn with business clothes or is this causal and for extreme sports?

I notice that the ultra is heavier than the standard SS

I had a watch like that when I was a kid. It also fitted me perfect 👍

Style icon Gianni Agnelli wore a Ploprof on an Isofrane rubber strap over his cuff, and the Ultra on midnight ocean strap is giving me those vibes.

Gianni Agnelli in Italy was called L'Avvocato (The Lawyer) but also Narici d'Oro (nostrils of gold), for addiction to cocaine.

It is not that all Gianni Agnelli wore was an icon of style, just see that watch and those glasses, on an elderly man, far from Piedmontese sobriety and elegance.

That’s one of the more legendary pics of him, but, fine, here’s something more subdued. In many watch circles, this is peak style, and being Narici d’Oro is likely an advantage, not a hindrance, when it comes to his style. lol

It makes so much sense functionally to wear a thick watch on the outside of the shirt cuff. Gianni can pull it off easily as he's Gianni, but what about everyday people?

The one thing that has always bothered me about the Apple watch was the size. Way too small IMO. I absolutely love the size and design. I have always worn big ass watches. I'm looking forward to it. ⌚️👍⌚️

If you wear this to a business meeting you’re gonna look like a dick. So you are gonna need 2 watches, might as well swap to a Garmin for sports 🤷🏻‍♂️
Yeah, that's a big part of where I'm at on it. I do like a lot of the features, but the size and garish orange button take it firmly into sports-only or 🤡⌚ territory.

I tried thinking about how I could fit it into my life, but just can't.

Wear one watch to workout in the mornings, then switch out for another to go to work, then swap it out again for evening workouts, then back again for evening activities, late business meetings/dinners and sleep? That's a lot of swapping. And extra expense if both are on cellular plans.

Only use the Ultra for weekend activities? That's very little use out of an otherwise nice watch. Possibly justifiable for the safety features & GPS accuracy, but again extra expense if both watches have a cellular plan and one's only used periodically.

Sounds like others are finding a way to make it work. Sadly, it's just not the watch for me right now and that's okay.

the apple watch has had the same look for such a long time, it feels dated after seeing the ultra. Looking forward to mine
a watch can get away with this if the original look is right there
my mechanical watch has the same look for 12 years now :))
The features are more important to the watch than the looks because its also a "fashion object"
