One aspect of the link bracelet is that the watch stays in a loop and does not lay flat for charging. There are some neat stands out there, but the one I liked best was from Nomad. It looks like they may ship around the same time as our watches.

They have been good about keeping me informed during their design and build process. I'm including a quote I got today:

"Due to a delay in finalizing the exact dimensions of Apple Watch charging cable and the unexpectedly different sized charging cable shipping with Apple Watch Sport, we had to make some last minute adjustments so that Stand will work perfectly with every variation of Apple Watch and cables available."

It looks like Apple hasn't made it very easy on it's partners either, at least in terms of specifications and early information.

Here is a link if anyone is interested. What's everyone else doing about charging?

I've ordered one already as well. :)

There is a thread started already for the Nomad stand, if anyone wants to discuss it further:

Thanks, guys. That stand looks very functional and stylish. Seems like a nice way to keep your watch safe when you take it off.

No matter who you reach out to, call, chat, go to the store .. this is what you may expect them to answer or read a script for this model as of today 4/28 ..

1. Ask your order number (make it seem like magical .. he/she may have something new for me)

2. Confirm your Address, etc with you for security purposes (like they are digging into some Eyes only record or something)

3. Read the same thing you have been reading since 4/10 on apple.com/orderstatus. They read to you the obvious.

4. Give you the same instructions that you already know and have been doing tirelessly since 4/10. come back to check on apple.com/orderstatus.
They may also tell you - you'll be notified when the order ships through email and you'll have that tracking number - which you may use to then go to an extent of tracking the flight, the UPS/Fedex Truck Number, where is the watch in the flight and you won't stop until the UPS truck stops outside and then Delivery Guy knocks your door. You'll behave as if you've not even been bothered and not open the door right away - where as we know you'd be counting him to your door .. he knocks in 5,4,3,2,1 .. tck tck tck, you would rather take 2 mins to open to hide the excitement from the Delivery guy !!

5. Ask them about the model, if has been shipped to others - they will tell everyone something that you can never on earth figure .. it must have been shipped to folks who ordered early, however yours waits it's time in the queue. Depends on when you ordered !! which to my knowledge is no one ordered that early to have it by now. Unless you are a Apple product reviewer or columnist - no one from the public has this on their wrists.

6. Then you will wonder - why did I chat, call with Apple .. may be even think of cursing the Apple Rep.

7. Then end up not doing so, because these are bots reading what is given to them.

8. No matter how much you'll crib, they ain't shipping until the day comes. What is right now for you on apple.com/orderstatus .. it is .. accept it or not

It's plain and simple guys - you'll have it soon, no matter if it's a temp charge on your card, letter of death or a letter from Tim Cook or his secretary ... it'll be there sooner or later and you'll be paying for it $999 + AC+ + Taxes .. so wait for it ... it's coming .. I know we ordered an expensive one and even I'm pissed off like anyone that I ordered in like first 3 mins of the pre-orders opening. But take it .. Apple are screwing not just our experience but their reputation a bit so that's why they gave us a broader and longer delivery estimate. So chill and come back on May 12th unless you really are in "Prepared for Shipment" stage now for 42mm SS LB

42 SS Link 2:02AM (St Louis time) - charged in Full on 4/22 @ 5PM and still pending charge, & since then only "Processing" *sigh* no EOD

Did anyone every figure out a clue why many SS were charged last week, all hopes raised, then quickly dashed on Friday? I am fine waiting, but these mixed signals like something is happening, then doesn't, is pretty weird.

In other news... my extra charger arrived today! yippee! (at least I don't have to see those shipping notices anymore and think the watch is moving! :)

They're just messing with you. I think that fits the definition of cruel and unusual.

It's funny how earlier today someone was commenting on how civil this thread has been...up until a few posts before this haha. It's all good though...they will come. Given how few of us there are on this forum waiting for this combo and the expectation that a large shipment will be coming at once, I have a feeling we will all be getting status updates at the same time and will breath a collective sigh of relief...followed by ecstatic posts in this thread...followed by anxious tracking of shipments. My guess is we get confirmation Friday or Saturday. For some reason, I keep looking at May 5th on the calendar and feel that's our delivery day. Or the 13th. Who knows.

Just for grins, I went through the Apple store and tested ordering every band for the SS 42 mm (Sorry 38 mm guys, you'll have to do your own). For every model except the SS with LDC the quote was "June". The SS with LDC was July.

So, my perspective is that we are getting our watches EARLY!!!

Yeah!!! (Feels better this way, right?)
;)

I have a 38 link ordered with a xx:03 email. I'm in a funny situation because I'll be in Fiji for pretty much the entire delivery window. If it arrives before I go I probably won't take it as there is likely no mobile coverage on the island I'm staying and with going swimming, snorkelling, paddle boarding and generally being on the sand or water I'd probably not wear it anyway.

Accordingly, hopefully it either arrives this week or very early next week or at the end of the May delivery window.

I'm in a similar situation, gone for my wedding throughout almost the whole delivery window. My wife and I got them for each others wedding gifts. She loves her 38 SS with white sports band.

+1 on the Space Black (I originally wanted the sport band...until I tried it on).

Also, ordering it as a unit means that (if you get AppleCare+), the link bracelet is covered. Ordering it separately, it isn't.

I've seen a few people mention this but I can't actually find any mention of it on Apple's site. Are we sure this is true?

*sigh* The apple watch you purchase is a SKU - a single part. Any accessories you order for that watch (or anything else) have their own warranties. NOT covered by the original AppleCare you purchased for the watch. Make sense?

Yes. Thank you. The *sigh* really helped too.

6 flights coming in tonight. Im going to assume none of these are our watches to change things up a bit.

Hopefully its filled with steel!! Im tired of them sending over Fluoroelastomer!! No offense to those that ordered a Sport, but you have been receiving shipments, its time for the TeamSSL to get in on the movement.

Many credit cards will add some sort of warranty (maybe another year) beyond standard Apple Warranty in case things get messed up with it that 'shouldn't' ie springs popping out or links just failing etc.

38mm here. Still processing. No EOD. Nothing. Which I sort of expect, but I still wish Apple would surprise us!

How is this for a "nice surprise": How about Apple send a definitive e-mail to us, SSL buyers, telling us that 4-6 weeks means 4-6 weeks instead of allowing all of us to grasp at straws and drive ourselves crazy with false hope. As much as I try to avoid it, I counting to check throughout the day for anything.

BTW, My handle is: 42 SSL; 4/10/15-12:03 confirmed, no EOD, non charges, always processing, 4-6 weeks (5/13 - 5/27).

As my 60th BD is 5/27, when do I think the damn thing will come....?
You're right 5/28.

I am picking up my wife's 32 pink from UPS first thing tomorrow. She says I can unbox and play with it for the day but it's hers come evening. See Apple! You see what you've reduced me to?!

So now the pink sport bands are delivering too... Looks like it's just us, space black, and the modern buckle left now!
