Well Chris Pirillo Absolutely Roasts the X's UI

.............I bought my Note 8 from Verizon and it is currently covered under a 30 day return policy for some reason, any other smart phone you buy from them has a two week return policy...as does Best Buy, Walmart, Target, etc... Samsung offers a two week return policy bought directly from them, HTC has a 30 day return policy, etc...

So basically most other companies offer at least a two week return policy.
No restocking fee?
Straight up, every penny paid, paid back?

Okay, if that's the case I retract

It applies to consumer products in general but there are exceptions:
- You can't return hygienically questionable products (e.g. headphones if you've used them)
- Things like music or books where the main value lies in the intellectual property that you could've copied
- Custom made products
- If you've damaged the product. Unboxing it, trying it out, using it etc. is fine, but if you somehow put a scratch in it, it's your's for good
Ohhh so the Chanel bag would work. It's a consumer product and I won't scratch it.

I'm okay with paying the piper if I do, but the idea that I can buy and wear it and return for full refund, no Qs ask...that's awesome.

But, iPhones returned at apple, I doubt they look super hard for scratches. As long as it's not an obvious one or a cracked screen you can return it.

So it's not 100% same. The answer you initially gave implied or at least had the absence of your now post.

I only watched a bit, but that was truly awful. I was hoping for a funnny video about the iPhone X's undisputed shortcomings. Not some self-absorbed guy ranting like a broken record.

Pulling different faces while repeating the same point over-and-over doesn't count as new information.

you guys would complain either way. if they had done it the other way you would have complained about the bottom and top bezel. also no one knows what steve would and would not approve. please stop saying this. steve produced tons of products that didnt make sense. he was not jesus

He was kinda More like god. Brought apple back from the dead. Lol

He has a follow-up video where he brings up this thread, apparently, it was actually him who posted in the thread.

He could've stopped after two minutes... How does he go on for forty...? jeez. If he doesn't want it he won't buy one. He doesn't need to make three hours of videos about it.

He’s actually spot on.

Especially when he references how some disliked bezels but somehow odd notches are okay.

The logic just doesn’t make sense.

It's weird how people justify the cost of the Note 8 though which is what 969? but the X is 999 but that is going to somehow cause a global economic crisis.

Also the Essential's camera cutout for me is more distracting because of it being small and it's placement, whereas the one in the iPhone X blends in more for me because of the size weirdly. I donno. Either way we have to put up with 5 more weeks of these types of videos until the embargoed reviews drops. We're all doomed.

I'm a big Android fan, but will admit the Note 8 price is outrageous too. But with Samsung, give it 4 months and their pricing comes down a lot. Look at the S8+ right now, the unlocked version can be had for $649, and in some special BOGO deals for $500

Apple rarely offers those deals.

That’s true. The key with Apple is the trade in value on the older phones. If you do those right you can get 50% of the cost towards the new phone whereas an older android phone simply wont hold value that you can use towards a newer phone.

Good point

Samsung also offers $200 for a 5 year old iPhone 5, and a 128GB SD card + fast wireless charger for free w/ pre-order.

All in all, even though the surface price is comparable, you can't come close to matching the value that Samsung offers.

How do you preorder a phone that’s already out?

Well, they've been available to pre-order from August 24th, and they are still running that promotion through September 24th. I guess you can call it an early adopter reward rather than a pre-order reward at this point.

It would only be a temporary downturn on the stock price and it would have been the right thing to do, but to be perfectly frank. I don't think they see the notch as an issue.

They lost 22.8B USD in stock value between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning. Clearly the market wasn't jazzed about "one more thing". It has bounced back a little since then though:

He references this thread from the 29th minute onwards in this video:

Not seen the other one yet but if it's based on the post here, there's little point.

edit: Watched the first few minutes of the X video. Personally, do I think iOS is perfect? Hell no. Do I notice sloop every time I use it? Hell no.
