What are you buying in 2007?

Someone posted here you should have your main hard drive and two additional hard drives on top, of the same size. Since I have 230 GB of data and only a 80GB internal HD, I have to use an external drive as my main drive. So going by that logice, I should really get 3 x 250GB Hard Drives. Does that make sense?

So, yeah, 3x 250GB HDs :D

Mac Mini when they get a C2D for a Media PC
Elgato Eyetv Hybrid ^
2x500GB WD MyBook Pro
Apple BT Keyboard/Logitech V270 mouse

Leopard/iLife 07

New Sony 6.1 Digital Receiver (to replace my old analog one)
PS3

Hopefully a 15'' Macbook Pro when they get the Santa Rosa platform, I got my dell inspiron only last year but i'm sick of its dumb bugs and stupid ****. Definitely the worst computer I've ever had so i'm replacing it.

Software for the MBP: Final Cut Express, Aperture, Photoshop CS3

Also maybe a new iPod if we get a 100/120GB model.

Wow, thats alot of stuff

My wife really wants a 24" iMac with Windows and Office. Trouble is, she also wants a big monitor for her laptop, so she might go with a Mac Mini, as Apple unaccountably doesn't have an external moniter input for iMacs.

We will have to charge about half of the cost, so we're trying to find out when Leopard will be released to make our plans.

We won't buy iPhone, as we have a long term committment to Verizon.

I'm trying to decide between buying an Apple clock-radio or going with Boston Accoustics which offers both iPod and high-def radio.

In less than a week I'll be buying a MacBook C2D 2.0Ghz! It's a shame selling my trusty iBook G4... that thing NEVER ONCE crashed on me or let me down. Here's to hoping the MacBook will do the same!

Also, I'll definitely be buying the iPhone -- if it even makes it to Canada this year, and depending on what carrier Apple goes with.

-imac 20" C2D (hopefully in about six weeks)
-possibly ilife '07 if the imac does not come with it at that time
-upgrade said imac to 2 GB ram (this summer)
-applecare (also coming this summer)
-Reason 3.0
-small scale midi controller
-stuff for my apartment that i move into in august for the '07-'08 school year
-possibly pro tools/mbox

an HP dv2000t... as soon as they are updated to ship with Vista and they get the 802.11n wireless protocol, which ought to happen as soon as they ship with Vista and some other upgrades ought to be on the way.

I'll buy my first Mac EVER! Mac Pro in the end of January to be precise. Other than that, probably iPhone (hope it reaches Slovenia this year), Photoshop CS3 and Lightwave 9. :D

the next gen iPod ( i won't give a dam if its touchscreen, super big screen or not, i just need a new one badly! and the i don't want to buy the 5G ipod)

leopard

wacom intuos A3 size

adobe CS3

an apple 20 inch display :D

can't get the iPhone, it'll only be out in 2008 for asia!

I'm buying an iPhone. Other than standard software updates, that'll be it...

You do realise there will be no software update and possibility for feature enhancements for the iPhones right? It is a dead device, stuck to run whatever software it comes with.

Definitely:
Adobe CS3
Leopard
SpacePilot

Maybe:
A macbook or macbook pro
iPhone
Canon EOS 400D

Too much to buy, too little money. :p

Apple can easily update the software, just like they do with the iPod updaters.

You are speculating that the 3rd parties won't be able to develop software, which is not yet confirmed either way.

I can't believe Canon has a lower range model that is superior to the current midrange model!

Ehm, superior in what way? 2 more Mp? It doesn't handle noise as well at high ISOs. Dust buster? It's not that efficient anyways, and dust isn't that much of a problem unless you're in extreme conditions (in which case you're better of with a sealed body anyways) or use certain lenses (MPE-65, for example). Better grip? The ergonomics of the 30D are much better than the 400D, easier to use with the 2 control dials. Speed? Autofocus points are the same, 400D can't do 5 fps. Other 30D goodies are spot metering, better viewfinder (pentaprism vs 400D's pentamirror), etc.

Not meaning to sound rude in any way! Just setting the facts straight :)

I don't really need anything from Apple. I will probably end up getting iLife 07' when it arrives, but I'm not sure about Leopard. I haven't seen anything in the preview so far to really make me want to buy it.

I will end up getting a plasma/lcd tv (atleast 40") this summer when my girlfriend and I get our own place. We'll also need to buy furniture because some of thestuff we have now is not that great.

My car is getting old (95' Toyota Camry), but still runs great. I'm trying to make it last for a couple more years, that way I can save enough up and get a decent car. I won't be buying new, they lose their value too quick and I doubt I will be spending more than $12K on a car. I just don't drive enough nor care to have much more money invested in a car, I need to also start saving for a house.

I just bought myself a big gift last week, a Nikon D50 DSLR so that will be new toy for a while.

Mac Pro (not sure which configuration). My wife really wants an iPhone. And if Apple updates iMovie, Final Cut Express, or Final Cut Pro to handle AVCHD, I'll be buying those as well.

Remember This?

Well I am off the mark a month into 2007 and have made my first purchase — 2GB of RAM for my black MacBook. I have edited my post to show the purchases I will make.
