Like his pal Bill, Mircosoft co-founder Paul Allen has a Porsche 959 (how original), but drives around Washington State mostly in an '88 Mazda B-Series pickup.
I think I like Paul a lot more now.

Im shocked at the stubborness of peoples opinions here. How can you criticise Jaguar. How on earth can you say anything bad about them. We used to own a present model and the old one 1999 one and 2005 one. They were both awesome. Awesome is infact an understament, they were beyond expectations. AND considering the crap treatment they get from FORD, they have done very well..... Lets just not mention the X-Type![]()
And we also had a 5 series and idrive is brilliant, it had its flaws but its simplicity is superb. The QUATTROPORTE, sorry sir for spelling it wrong, i have not driven one unlike u as i am only 17 but who cares how it drives, its about passion, Jaguar and Maserati have passion, unlike MODERN american cars. I do have a soft spot for old mustangs and the new Ford interceptor conept but 99% of what come out of an american car factory is crap. Even rover who had no money what so produced pretty decent things. eg rover 75.
If there is any more critiscism I will be glad to answer is as best I can and if you want, I will prove anything you want me to.
One more thing, Jaguar or a Cadillac, I think its a pretty easy answer.
Maserati? Passion? The gear box was harsh the turning radius was quick without the suspension to back it up so the car had a very panicky feel to it. The engine was ill suited to a large car, generating it's power in the higher rpm ranges. And as stated earlier Jags have terrible electrical problems(since resolved) however they still have HUGE quality control issues.
Go look at JD power. And as for idrive, if you had ever used it you would not call it"brilliant".
You are 17 there for you cannot drive, so do not speak of things that you have no understanding of.
Basically you have proven that you should not be allowed to talk.
On a side note, while BG is the richest person in the world, the richest family is the Walton (Walmart) family. And if you add up their wealth, they about double what BG is worth.I think I like Paul a lot more now.I like those trucks from the late eighties, and it's nice to know he doesn't always use the Porsche to say "Look how rich I am!"

When Sam Walton was alive, even with all that wealth, he still drove his old pickup truck, continued to eat in the same greasy spoon places and got his haircuts in the same barber shop he did before he made all his wealth.![]()
Interesting about the Waltons...the waltons are "a little bit" extreme. not only the executives fly economy during business trips, they also share motel rooms. additionally, manufacturers' samples, i.e. desks, chairs, etc, are often put to use at the walmart HQ until they are really worn out.
glad that SJ isn't that "efficient," but he sure could drive something with more personality.
I agree with you sooo much. bring on the r10
its 0-60 should be in the 3s not 4s

you dont need a nice car when you have the worlds second largest privately owned yacht. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octopus_(yacht)
I dont know what u drive but i assume it must be a ford taurus or something awful like that. Passion has nothing to do with how good the car actullay is. Look at the delorean, it was awful, but there was something about it, and it still turns heads today. It was awesome. we used to have a 5 series which DID have idrive and i loved it. And we have owned three Jaguar XJ's since 1999 and had only minor probelms with each, The new model 2003- XJ was beutiful and was apprecited in England because us english know a thing or two aboout cars. American cars probably never break down (which is a shame), because they use technology from the medivel times, eg LEAF SPRINGS. I mean its 2007 and they use leaf springs, eg corvette. American cars are so dull and unimaginative. Have u ever been in a chrsler neon.. Oh my goodness. Its shocking.
Maybe if u were a half decent driver which u probabaly arnt because all american roads are straight then maybe you could drive the maserati properly. James May and J Clarkson loved the maserati, apart from the gearbox, and i think they know more about cars then you do fool. I maybe 17 but im not an arse. And I am taking driving lessons.
whoa... whoa... whoa... you are so off base. so what if the delorean was built from "passion" (and allegedly cocaine money) and still turns heads. it only does so because it was so ill concieved that its amazing that ever even was made (and back to the future 1/2/3).
and i dont think anyone would call a maserati a real sports car. even with a tubi exhaust (though itd sound amazing... i prefer kreis-sieg though)... its a gt car.
have you ever driven a real sports car? hell i bet the '02 Z06 i had, with leaf springs, could kick the hell out of anything youve driven. want to talk about "real" roads? stick this in google maps and look at what i drive every day "Kahekili Hwy, Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii 96793, United States"
i cant believe steve jobs would drive without a license. i think they took off the plate prior to taking that picture of his car. how annoying would it be to be steve jobs, who is hopefully a busy man, to be pulled over by every new highway cop?
You won't get pulled over solely for not having license plates. At least not often.
what is the reason for not having them on i wonder...?
because they use technology from the medivel times, eg LEAF SPRINGS. I mean its 2007 and they use leaf springs, eg corvette.
Like I said, they aren't all straight. I bet any one of the licensed American drivers posting in this thread could demolish you around an auto-x course, or a track (circuit or drag).Maybe if u were a half decent driver which u probabaly arnt because all american roads are straight
Tip: Don't call people a fool over a difference in opinion, especially when your opinion is given to you from someone else.then maybe you could drive the maserati properly. James May and J Clarkson loved the maserati, apart from the gearbox, and i think they know more about cars then you do fool.
Prove it.I maybe 17 but im not an arse.
OH MY GOD I MUST BOW DOWN TO YOUR SUPERIOR KNOWLEDGE OF ALL THINGS AUTOMOTIVE. Where the hell is iGav?And I am taking driving lessons.
Why does this have to turn into such as bash-fest? If somebody thinks a car has more passion than another, then so be it. Everybody's entitled to their opinion right? Also, at least some users are honest in saying that they're still learning to drive. There's way too many people here saying that they drive or have driven super expensive cars. I don't buy it.
I think Chris Bangle is right, though. German cars have ZERO passion. Its all about engineering. That includes Porsches. Maserati and Jaguar (along side Ferrari, Lambo, etc) all have many flaws but they're (in my opinion) beautiful looking cars. Oftentimes its form over function. The new Jag XK looks better than anything thats come from Germany or the US in ages. The Maserati Quattroporte is also the only executive style limo that has any passion whatsoever. Now it has a full-auto box the gear shifting is fine too (at least so I've read).
As for the Corvette, that discussion can go on forever. I think its a decent enough car, which is great value for money, but like the Merc SL it has no street-cred. It also has no exclusivity whatsoever in the US. I'd never buy one.
