Booq Vyper

I too use the Booq Vyper and recommend it highly. Macbook Pro unilbody slid off of the hood of my car in the Booq. No damage, not a scratch. Of course, if it fell off of the roof it might be a different story.

I have a BBP Hampton for my MacBok Pro 15 and I love it so much that I got a BBP Hampton for my 17 MBP Uni-that's I'm planning to order this coming weekend.

I have had a variety of cases from manufactures and I LOVE the BBP.

Tenba Messenger Bag, Small
http://www.tenba.com/products/Messenger-Small-Bag.aspx

It's got a padded slot in the back for the lappy, a bunch of pockets in both the inside and the flap, and a removable padded bucket in the main compartment.

In my case, the bucket will fit my M8 body with 4 lenses or the 5D with 2 lenses.

It also has a large rear external zipper compartment which is handy for umbrella storage.

It's not that big of a bag, but it holds a lot of stuff and the strap is well padded. The top also has a zipper so you can get at your camera stuff without having the open the flap all the way.

I have a LOT of bags and this one is the one I use most often on my daily commute.

You guys and your fancy bags.

I just have Targus business bag. Lots of pockets for files, pencils, pens, card readers, power cords. Ect, Ect. Ect.....

Just thought I would let you know that Jack Spade has a sale on now and their regular nylon canvas field bags in red or green are down from $195 to only $45.

Unfortunately their tech versions are all sold out apart from the black one which is not on sale.

I ordered a green one and am waiting to see if my 14.7" booq Taipan M will fit in the 14.5" field bag.

here's hoping...

Just read through this entire thread. In other threads at MR asking for bag recommendations, I see a larger variety of bags mentioned, so this thread is a bit of an anomaly. If you're seriously looking for a bag, do a search for similar threads.

I own the Caribee Recon backpack. I use this most often, since I'm a student.

I own this STM Small Loft, and have owned it for 4 years. It's my 2nd most often used bag. It has a very patterned nylon weave that you can't see unless you actually click on the photo above. ;) Also, the colours aren't as offensive in real life. I've received at least a dozen complements for this bag. :D

I have a bag fairly similar to this Takeo Kikuchi, although mine has a smooth dark grey-blue material with a herringbone type of pattern. I got it 9 months ago, and it was never really meant to be a laptop bag. I use it when I don't want to look like I'm 15 years old. :p However, I use it most often as a regular man-bag (murse), so that's fine. It's also not THAT expensive.

Oh, and for my laptop + Nikon D300 + lenses + random stuff:

I'm also thinking of replacing the STM Small loft if I get a 15" MBP, since it won't fit anyway. If I do, I'll get this STM Cargo bag (large) or totally splurge and get this Saddleback Leather briefcase. Their leather is supposed to be amazing. Someone at MR mentioned them last week, and I checked it out. :D It's $500 though.

I have an Incase Slim Sleeve and the Incase Nylon Backpack. They are both great quality and fit the MBP very well. The MBP slim sleeve is padded and lined with an ultra soft material. The backpack has a slip in padded 'pocket' for the MBP and numerous compartments (some are even lined with faux fur). As a student I am very pleased with both of these Incase products, they have served me well. I have plenty of room for my MBP and textbooks/notebook to carry around campus in the Incase backpack.

Currently have this as my bag:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8846252&type=product&id=1214004292441

(I also have their "epic" backpack that I use when I need a TON of storage, Usually I just drag my xbox360 to halo parties with it)

Also I have this case:
http://www.speckproducts.com/products/seethru/macbook-pro-15-silver-keys/25

When I eventually trade up to my UMBP 15" I plan to get their satin case and probably an Invisi-Shield for the unit to at least protect the palm rests.

Ok, after commenting on the lack of variety in this thread when compared to older threads, I need to ask: Is the Incase sleeve so popular because it's wickedly awesome, or is there another reason? It seems like 1/3 or everyone in this thread owns one, so if everyone is buying one because it's awesome, then it would be good for me and everyone else to know. :)

Yes it is awesome! :) I absolutely love the way it fits and it has a soft microfiber lining. The padding protects the MBP well from any dings or scratches it may encounter too.

i have one of these, but in yellow and black

i think i will be buying the larger messanger bag and selling this one.

Here's the one I bought last week for my first ever Mac, my beautiful new MBP:

TT733

I got myself one of these too. Really like it a lot, it fits nearly perfectly but has corners to give it a little extra protection from bumps on the ground when i set down my backpack. Right now I have a standard Jansport backpack, but getting a Northface Recon in the next few days.

Another comment about the latest revision of the Booq Vyper M3 -- it does NOT fit like a glove on the new 15" unibody. The old ones fit like gloves on the old MBPs, but these don't. Around the edges it fits perfectly, but they are way too thick for the new MBP so that when you grab it there is a lot of 'play' before you feel the firm notebook underneath. The beauty of the olds ones was that it was completely form-fitting.

Easy to return if you don't like it, but just to warn you...I think it's a design flaw actually. Hard to explain, but when you see it you'll see what I mean.
