I've learned never to buy a case based on an online picture. Fortunately I was able to find the Trident Aegis at a local store and really like it. It is more protective than a hard case, but not as bulky as the Otterbox style case and it seemed to be reasonably priced at about $35. My only regret is that they only had black, I would prefer the one with some color.

Edit: The above are iphone4 cases. This image below is what the cases look like for iphone 5s. They don't have that angled color on the corners:

iphone5 case.

Anyone familiar with the Zaggle Cases? They look great but they appear relatively expensive if they are just hardshell cases... opinions?
Thanks!

I don't live in the US or England too but have a US forwarding address that I use pretty often, because there are some websites that do not ship to my country. If you're not aware of that, there are a lot of package-forwarding services online.

There's a Dutch-based online shop called Appelhoes, I'm pretty sure you know of? http://www.appelhoes.nl/Apple-iPhone-5-hoes

They have a lot of cases. SwitchEasy's Tones and the Slight 5 from Desmay...

Yes I know them, best site I could find, together with Joli Originals for sleeves.

This case feels very nice in hand and looks good as well. I figured I would give it a try considering it was $2.95 to my front door.

I also picked this case up on ebay. Although mine was 5.99 to the door, which is still great. I must say that I was very pleasantly surprised with this case. It was a little difficult to get on b/c it is tight fitting but it is extremely low profile and adds very little bulk or weight to the phone. It does give that extra bit of protection so the phone is not directly contacting anything. I have ghost armor and it works fine without messing up the protector if you are careful putting it on. The opening on the back for the Apple logo is a must for me as well as having it mostly open on the bottom. The buttons work great too and the mute switch is easy to get to as well.

My only two complaints is I wish it had a clear plastic piece on the back over the apple logo to protect it and also to feel smoother on the back when I am holding it and also the bulk of the back material doesn't have much grip on it so it feels slightly slippery. Although both of those complaints are very minor and I probably won't even notice them after a few days of use.

Overall for $6 this is the best case I have I have used on an iphone yet. I guess sending back my $50 defender case was a good move for me.

Good review. I'm glad you like it.
Returning my Commuter was a good move for me. I have another case on the way that has high potential for being perfect. I have read the feedback for it on the users profile and everyone is extremely pleased with it's quality. It will be arriving tomorrow or Saturday. I'll post pictures here.

Can you please post some pictures of the Aegis? I am very interested in seeing what it looks like on the phone in reality.

I just bought a sleeve from Joli Originals. A special edition black and yellow one :)

The black ones are all black, here is a green one:
Image. This case provides very good protection but is not as bulky as the Otterbox Defender.

Thanks for the picture, but that's not reality. I watched a youtube video review to get a better idea.

What do you mean? Keep in mind that mine is all black, but it looks just like the picture. I all most bought a Speck Candystripe Grip, but I could not find one in the store, and the pictures online, showed the back, but did not show the front or how much protection it really provided. This is why ultimately I want to see one in person before I purchase.

The picture you provided is in no way comparable to seeing a picture of the case on the phone of an actual owner. Don't worry about it though.

I took a look at the Speck CSG, it seems nice, but a little to "busy" for my taste. The CS Satin is decent looking, but I know you're looking for something colorful.

i just bought a casecrown black from amazon

not bad for a 6-buck case and i loved it!

So far I have:

Belkin Grip Candy Sheer - My favorite
2 Snap on cases from Radioshack (2 for $10) - Don't like as much, b/c bottom totally exposed

I ordered an iPhone 5 Screen Protector Set Steinheil Ultra Crystal Mix (Front & Back) and a Skin Guard Set Series in Carbon White from Spigen as well as a Hardshell Clear Case with Soft Edges by Macally. That's it for me. I officially end my addiction of buying/searching cases/screen protectors for my iPhone 5 starting now :D
