On software, performance and bugfixes, I'd be more than content if there was nothing else but those perfected.

iOS11, after many fresh reinstalls, still drops frames everywhere and occasionally lags up needing a restart on an iPhone 7 that should be more than powerful enough. It's still nowhere near late 10s peak. I just want all this crap dealt with...

Hardware, 13" rMBP with 8th gen quads and a 15" with that joint Intel AMD multichip package would be sweet. 6 core coffee lake with a Radeon, drool.

They would be able to incorporate larger batteries into that keyboard than are in the 13" MacBook Pro. So I don't see it as needing too much charging. Most probably a lot more charging than regular keyboards though. I also am unsure whether Touch ID would work over bluetooth considering its security sensitive nature and the Secure Enclave etc.

It could leverage wireless charging! How about a thin work mat which was the charger and allowed you to charge a few devices concurrently! Lets say your keyboard, mouse and/or trackpad.

Frankly, I would want a more interactive trackpad similar to a older Watcom drawing tablets. With the ability to create a custom palette of controls using the same idea as the TouchBar.

iPad Mini Pro (slightly larger screen than iPad Mini, but same footprint, Apple Pencil support and a smart keyboard).

Laptops with keyboards that work.

Among many other things...

MACS. Easily upgradable Macs with no soldered or proprietary parts. Headless Macs (Mac mini, Mac mini Tower and Mac Pro) and Thunderbolt matte displays. Wired Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad and Wired Magic Mouse 2. Full macOS support of APFS for all disks, including external ones and Time Machine ones.

IOS. True USB port to share files, etc. Accesible iOS file system as Mac.

I personally would like to see apple out-apple itself on the software side of things. I think it's time we made big a big step forward in taking the software ecosystem to a whole new level. I love continuity/handoff. Make everything support it. Do what spotify does and synchronise all devices logged into the same account. Let my iPhone be a second display for my watch the way my watch is a second display for my phone.

When apple introduced handoff and continuity, it introduced one of the features that has kept me loving the ecosystem so much, and one of the very reasons i look away anytime I consider switching over to android/windows. Step it up, Apple.

Fix the keyboard that can be ruined with a speck of dust jjjjjjjjkjust hhelp. Yes I have used compressed air to clean it. jjjkjjjj

Sadly, Apple realized they messed up with the keyboards and redesigned them for the 2017 models! Bring your system in and have them replace the keyboard at least then you can use it again. Or just get a Bluetooth keyboard (I would have recommended a USB keyboard but you don't have a USB-A port ;-{)

That was Apples other big mistake taking away USB-A ports!

This is what I personally want (the list of what I’d like to see is a superset):

  • New Mac Mini, quad core CPU, USB-C
  • Up-specced iPhone 5 or a smaller iPhone X
  • MBP with longer-travel keys again (not gonna happen), the touch bar’s fine
  • Black AirPods (that you don’t have to pay a third party the cost of a second set of a AirPods to produce)
  • Across the entire product line, unified ports and/or (second choice) a proper set of bundled adapters

In our recent What to Expect post, we covered everything we think we'll see from Apple in 2018 based on the current rumors that are circulating about the company's 2018 plans.

Three new iPhones are on the horizon, one a followup to the iPhone X, one that will serve as an "iPhone X Plus" with a larger OLED display, and one with an LCD display that will be positioned as a low to midrange device with a cheaper price tag. Apple's first smart speaker, the HomePod, will come out in 2018, and we're also expecting a revamped iPad Pro, refreshed Macs, and new software, but there's always a chance for a wildcard update or new product that will surprise us all.

A high-end modular Mac Pro, new original TV shows, AR smart glasses, and autonomous driving software are all products Apple is working on, with no official release date known. We want to hear from the MacRumors community -- what are you expecting or hoping to see Apple release in 2018?

Are there specific features you're hoping Apple will implement in iOS 12, tvOS 12, watchOS 5, or macOS 10.14? Popular wishlist items for last year included a dark mode for iOS, a customizable Control Center (which happened!), animated icons, iPhone complications, a swipe-based keyboard, offline Maps and Siri, and more.

Let us know what you want to see in the comments, and make sure to check out our What to Expect post to get a glimpse at the current rumors. Apple's plans for 2018 will become more clear in the early months of the year, and as always, we'll be covering every rumor that pops up in-depth here at MacRumors.

The MacRumors forums are also a rich resource for discussing upcoming products and rumors, and with so many exciting changes on the horizon for 2018, our forums are the place to be for lively discussions on what's coming.

We'd like to thank all of our readers and forum members for making MacRumors the absolute best source for Apple news, rumors, and advice on the web. We wouldn't be here without you, and we look forward to yet another rumor-packed year in 2018.

Updated Mac mini

Software quality, especially on IOS

Less focus on pro, more on devices for everyday schmoes like me

id like to see an updated ipod touch to dock in my car.

16 gig nano doesnt cut it, moving parts HDD in my classic doesnt cut it when its cold out, and buying an A8 device today doesnt cut it.

I want Apple to bring peace to Earth and save all the puppies from slaughterhouses
How about adding perfectly good horses from slaughter too...Where I live ...they take unwanted horses, slit their throats and cut them into pieces for zoo food.....

In the new version of OS X 10.14, I'd like to see:
  • Super serious file sharing. I want to easily be able to share anything--iTunes playlists, photos, photo streams, docs, folders--with anyone. Simple individual permissions. Family sharing that's easy and pervasive. Take advantage of APFS to make this work really well.
  • Documents in the cloud. New download-the-file-when-it's-needed functionality, like DropBox and Google and Microsoft are rolling out. Make the need for large internal hard drives diminish.
  • Apple News on the desktop.
  • New version of iMovie. It'd be great if I could have a place on iCloud Drive and access my iMovie Library via iOS and Mac.
  • Photos update to focus on managing large numbers of photos. Now that the image editing features are up to par, focus on file management--sorting, sharing, smart albums, cascading folders. The UI and interface needs some work, too.
Great suggestions but not a chance ...sorry....no money in it.

Competent soft and hardware. Modular design for all iOS devices and ALL Macs!
More honesty regarding production, products and ethics. There have been too many silences since Ron Johnson and Jobs left the buildings.
Listening to the whole customer base, not fan boys who don’t question and who act like seals being thrown fish.
Listen to your staff who get feedback from said Pro and Domestic consumers. A brands arrogance will Be it’s downfall.

Hey come on, you guys have had loads of MacBooks over the years. Be fair, how about some love for the Mini or Mac Pro man?

I don't think it was intended to be a slight ;-} Apple has made a few blunders in the Mac space over the last four years.

MacBook Pro's that should have been the MacBook. The MacBook which should have been the MacBook Air, and lastly the MacBook Pro which the Pro's really need and want MIA!

For all the needed features and functions the general base & Pro's need were ripped out.

The poor Mac Mini... Left to dry up and shrivel away. Instead of keeping its CPU's up to date as well as not offering interoperable Bluetooth & WiFi with the other current devices. HP offers a better mini PC than Apple now.

The new iMac Pro great box! But... no means to even get to the RAM without a complete teardown! Bad design Apple! Following the logic nothing can be touched internally by a user so sad...

The Mac Pro we'll need to wait to see how much an F-Up it will be. I'm sure the modularity aspect will have a cost. But will they really make a Pro's system or something useless.

The Trash Can Mac Pro while limited was a great design! I don't buy the thermal excuse as others have taken the concept and have made some descent hardware (HP for one)

What I want is a ThreadRipper based Mac Pro! Threads are the big deal for many pro apps! While the Intel CPU's are good they come up short with threads! That leads to the next issue PCIe lanes again the ThreadRipper offers more so you can have more storage or other devices.
