Update the Airport Base Station. If Apple is going to continue selling it as ‘new’, then it should support 802.11ac like most (or all) of their other products do.

Agreed. I don’t see why my phone can have 802.11ac but the AirPort Express can’t. Well I think the answer is they wanted to push people towards the huge, ugly, white monolith that is the AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule. An example of Apple being hostile to users.

A cheaper iPhone X form factor.
Cheaper iPad pro 10.5. Raising the price was a dickmove.
I expect Apple to pay its taxes.

I’d like Apple to think BIG again

1. Disrupt telecom with affordable, sat technology allowing for wireless access anywhere in the world

2. Give iPad more input controls and make them from 10” to 30”, making it the ultimate creative platform. Also, shift engineering talent and resources to iOS/iPad and start sunsetting the Mac so I no longer need to carry 2 devices and the company can become more focused

3. More bio sensor(s) on AW4

4. Use sat tech to provide real time street level updates

5. Set Siri free - it should be viewed as a platform I can use anywhere... home, car, ATM’s, kiosks, etc.

6. Get back into advertising. With the most coveted demographics anywhere, there’s no reason why Apple couldn’t monetize it and hit Google where it hurts while using ad dollars to provide cheaper/free services while also championing privacy

7. Make Apple Pay more ubiquitous and use blockchain and cryptocurrency to create a new universal digital currency, disrupting banks/finance

An updated modular Mac Pro that's totally user-upgradeable with standard components (PCIe, etc.).
Also, bring the SD card reader back to the MacBook Pro, and bring USB-C to the iPhone.

  • In general, clean the line-up and reduce pricing. Other than that, here’s what I’d like to see.
Laptops:
  • MacBook 12” and 14”, all should come with 2 USB-C ports and FaceTime HD cameras. 480p is not acceptable.
  • MacBook Pro 13” should start at 256GB base, just like the cheaper MacBook. The Touch Bar should not be forced on us, so introduce 15” models without it.
  • The MagSafe and SD card slots should be brought back.
Desktops:

  • Make fusion drives standard across the line-up, with 256GB SSDs a no-cost option for those who prioritise speed over storage space.
  • New Mac Mini and Mac Pro. The Mac Mini should remain a budget friendly product at a similar price point as today.

iPhone:

  • Realize that not everybody wants a 6”phablet! It makes zero sense for a new 6.1” model as the budget-friendly iPhone X option. What would make sense, would be:
  • iPhone X Mini 4.7” display in 4” form factor
  • iPhone X (5.8” in 5” form factor)
  • iPhone X Plus

Other:

  • Bring back an Apple branded display and stop selling those ugly, plasticky LG displays. I don’t think they belong in an Apple Store.

I didn’t realize the Extreme supported 802.11ac when I first posted, but yes it does appear Apple is pushing customers to purchase something that’s twice the price for what is essentially a bump in throughput.

Whatever they decide to name the iPhone X successor. I'm upgrading next September, so looking forward to that.

The third generation Mac Pro: I'm looking forward to learn what is taking so long. Presumably it's more than iMac Pro internals in a pretty, non-upgradable box.

A new MacBook Pro: I like the current gen, but I know there are lots of people here who are unsatisfied with the current machine. For me personally, it's too expensive to recommend to friends at the moment.

- More powerful MacBook Pro work station, convertible screen with pencil input (not touch).

- Pencil with an off switch, different tips of various materials and sharpness, and a less precarious way to quick charge.

- Updated waterproof SE with better camera, better speakers, more storage, wireless charging, and 3D Touch.

- Updated waterproof iPad mini with better speakers and wireless charging. And shrunken a bit so that it’s easily palm-able.

- iPad Pro with native display input and pencil output with cursor hover.

- Inconspicuous Apple smart fitness band.

- Beats x headphones with a power switch (instead of button), longer battery life, wireless charging, and controls built into the neck base (instead of hanging on the cord).

- More competent Siri.

You already can use it in home and car. Not sure of the usefulness at ATMs or kiosks. The latter two are places I don't need to talk to a machine for a host of reasons.

But I agree Apple needs to unify Siri commands among platforms and work on making it more flexible like Alexa's "skills." I don't see Siri as a platform, but as an input method. Homekit is the platform. I do wish Apple would push it a bit more. It's treated like an afterthought right now. Maybe they'll do more once HomePod releases since it's very much reliant on Siri.

Do those laptops with 32GB of RAM also offer comparable battery life? Also you'd rather have a heavier laptop because of this? For how many people are you speaking? What would you need 32GB of RAM for in a 13" macbook pro without dedicated graphics?

It turns out the amount of current load is not that much in idle. It's only when its used, so if you do photo, video, or sound editing thats when the battery will suffer but if you where using an SSD to cache the work the load is exponentially larger! So more RAM is better for large projects. And its not that much a load if not used.

Many people use an external display with their 13" systems. While a heavy graphics type of task would benefit with a dedicated GPU. Thats where I could see a 15" or 17" system would be better.

Update the Airport Express. If Apple is going to continue selling it as ‘new’, then it should support 802.11ac like most (or all) of their other products do.

Not going to happen... Apple has exited the networking business and are just milking money out of whomever will still buy their outdated stuff. Do yourself a favor and sell your Airport gear while it still has used market value and buy a mesh system... they are so much better.
