Brutal Wolfenstein 3D fan remake is so good if you've ever played the classic.

To get it running on MacOS:
- Download GZDoom for MacOS and double-click to extract to folder ./GZDoom.app
- Google search for and download DOOM2.WAD
- Right click on GZDoom app, select 'show package contents', move DOOM2.WAD to ./GZDoom.app/Contents/MacOS
- Download Brutal Wolfenstein 3D, extract file ZMC-BW6.0.pk3 and move it to ./GZDoom.app folder
- Drag ZMC-BW6.0.pk3 on top of GZDoom app to play, if it prompts with a list select 'Doom 2: Hell on Earth (DOOM2)' and OpenGL renderer

For PC:
- Similar to above but get Windows GZDoom version, put DOOM2.WAD and ZMC-BW6.0.pk3 in the same GZDoom folder and select Vulkan renderer

Good find! I had watched a playthrough of it yesterday, so perfect timing for me!

I wonder if Brutal Doom would work. I don’t know why, but I just assumed that the same folks made both mods.

Hello everyone: This is your PSA that BHVR Interactive's (the developers behind Dead by Daylight) new game Meet your Maker is dropping today at 12 PM CST, and if you have a PS Plus subscription you get it for free day one.

What is Meet your Maker? Imagine Doom Eternal and Mario Maker had a baby. An evil baby

Sounds cool, but I think you might have mistakenly put this one in the wrong sub-forum.

Might make more sense in Console gaming?

It's utilising the GZDoom game engine so it's a universal app for both Apple Silicon and Intel 64 bit platforms. If into Build Engine games this is the way to go. Have Brutal Doom Black Edition running on my M1 Mac and Doom 3 which has never looked better on the RBDoom BFG engine.

Those that want more check out Mac Source Ports for some great games from the past that now run natively on the M1/M2 Macs & Intel 64  All respect to the dev's as this a community service gratis 👍👍

A few hours into Legend of Heroes: Trails from Azure on Switch ... I love these sweeping epic games, which I have played across the PSP to PS Vita and now Switch!

Yeah, I am not sure if it is my own fault for leaving the game on for the past couple days paused. I made a stupid error thinking I could run through a section and got killed. I am just annoyed that I did one of the test locations and killed 2 mini bosses. I guess I will check to make sure the saves are actually saving now (this is the first time this happened).
Ref: Atomic Heart- Does the game offer manual saves or just checkpoint saves? A recent nightmare for me was Dragon’s Dogma which has a piss poor game save scheme and it tended to crash while saving, while over writing the current save! 🤬

In either case I like @Queen6 track down the save location of any game I‘m playing and make a duplicate of it. When playing on Steam, if turned on, the cloud save can save you, but there I think it is just the most recent save. Sometimes I want flexibility to return to an earlier point.

They're mods for GZDoom so download and drag/drop .zip or .pk3 onto app.

Trying Project Brutality next. Click on green code button and download zip.

Holy crap Marathon multiplayer deja Vu! Historical note: Marathon looked like this before the original Doom did. I have a desire to find my double sawed off shotguns… :)

There are manual saves (along with checkpoints).

Total Chaos plays really well, however it's a very dark storyline and TBH challenging. I may restart and play more cautiously now I'm far more familiar with the game and how it operates. Guns fall into play later on, but being a true survival horror doubt ammo will ever be in abundance.

You need to master the use of doge & sprint as taking everything out not possible, well at my skill level LOL. Only real complaint is there is no difficulty level, so either I have to raise my game or put Total Chaos down, which would be disappointing. It's completely free and a well polished game so cant complain.

AI is mental as it will even stalk you across levels with palpable aggression. Kind of get vibes of the old school Silent Hill & Resident Evil games with a smattering of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. It definitely delivers as to make progress you have to be prepared in places to put your avatar in hams way. Soundscape is superb and really adds to the immersion deeply so.

I'll give Total Chaos "a good crack of the whip" Think I will restart as feel I've squandered a lot resources in the early game. Pathing is also excellent with great level/map design. I need to back track now, yet also know that path is done, so there must be another way somewhere.

Total Chaos is disturbing as it's deeply psychological in nature and the stuff nightmares are made of. Game is hinting at something and much like Prey think I'll be pretty close, I'll either ways will see at the end or on YT LOL.

Anyone looking for an old school horror survival game in the 3D realm Total Chaos is for you and far better than many a paid for game...

I just started Vertigo 2. It's a PCVR game made by one guy, and it's pure fun. It doesn't take itself seriously and is just an incredible joy to play. Gotta support my PCVR devs, how few there are left who haven't abandoned us for the Zuck.

VR really needed this after a year of no new games and the rough launch of Bonelab

May 2023-
  • Spaceborne 2 it was a little too unfinished for me, so set it aside. A online friend actually felt compelled to buy me a $70 Star Citizen spaceship. I’m undecided, but it challenges my hardware, getting 20-30fps and this is in areas with basically nothing going on. I also reinstalled Elite Dangerous, but have found flying ships in that game with keyboard mouse is challenging, or maybe I’m just getting old… 🤔 I played it before, but can’t remember if I used my joystick or not. :(
  • I’m in the final chapter of FarCry 5 (recommended) and am contemplating what RPG to play next, mulling over Skyrim, The Outer Worlds, even Fallout 4…again (all of which I have played before). This article is interesting:

I’ve played some of these games which feel very different than F4.I know there is disagreement, it is not perfect by a long shot, but F4 is my gold standard. It gave me what I wanted. :)
  • World of Warships- I’ve opened myself up, back to playing destroyers and cruisers, in addition to battleships. Team play with strangers can be excruciating. Wargaming has made some crappy decisions in the name of game balancing, but still it feels much less pay to win, than World of Tanks.

I’ll say no, not to imply it is impossible that I have ever played a Metal Gear game. The name is very familiar. 😐

Download Duckstation onto your Mac, get a ROM of Metal Gear Solid 1, and play this legendary masterpiece now. I'd explain more but I'd rather you go in sight unseen, as explaining would ruin the magic.

Or if you have a PC, the game is also available on GOG.
