I like android and there are some features I really miss. But the s3 was just too big and unwieldy for me and there were no other android phones I liked. My original evo was falling apart.

The display on the iPhone is beautiful with bright, vivid and correct colors. The S3 was not bright enough and the colors were not accurate.

I chose the s3 as I couldn't wait for the 5. But I did buy the 5 for the wife and I find it to be a worthwhile upgrade as we had iphone 4's.

I don't find the hype about the S3 anything to write home about, was more impressed with the Note for the month I had it but returned it due to the lag. I think the 5 is overall a more polished and premium feeling phone and it just runs flawlessly.

Battery life really impressed me though as the 5 lasts as long as my S3 does with a 4200mAH battery. Same screen time and everything!

What is the 1 single biggest reason that you chose the iphone over the s3? And don't give me "well, there are a number of reasons", that's not what this thread is about. 1 dealbreaker.

You know what's sad? The S3 is like 50 years old in phone years. The Samsung Note 2 is actually a better phone than the S3. The Note 2 is like a S3 pumped on steroids. Just look on www.phonearena.com. I wouldn't even recommend an S3 until people see the Note 2. It's not for everyone but if you contemplating a 4.8 inch display why not go all out.

"The 5.5” 16:9 HD Super AMOLED screen on the Galaxy Note II is better than the 4.8-incher on the S III in every category imaginable but pixel density."

"When we couple the more powerful processor with Android Jelly Bean’s interface optimizations, the Note II comes superior in UI fluidity and app performance, which will hold at least until the GS III gets updated, too."

"When it comes to loudspeaker performance in playing music, the Note II wins hands down, with one of the most powerful speakers we’ve heard on a smartphone, which on top of that doesn’t sound flat, and outputs pretty clean sound, even at the highest volume."

"Needless to say, the larger 3,100mAh battery on the Note II, should make a difference compared to the 2,100mAh unit on the S III, regardless of the screen size."

"The stylus in the Note II is much improved in comparison with the original - it has a more ergonomic grip now, and the new technology inside allows you to leave faster and smoother ink trace. Moreover, the S Pen has learned new tricks now, too, with the most intriguing one being Air View, which brings up previews of emails, image galleries and button labels when you hover over them."

Single biggest reason ?

Probably the apple software(apps and operating system).

Other reasons...

1. Solid build and quality (my iphone 5 is flawless)
2. User interface appeals to me more than android
3. Form factor/appearance
4. Display quality.

There are other reasons but these are the main ones...

Because the s3 is hard to type on with my thumb when holding it with one hand.

It runs the original iOS and not a copy. A close second is that the phone is not the size of a pancake.

S3 was too big for me and the OS just has way too many unnecessary features that i rarely or never will use. :apple:

i own a GS3 and i4... i like the GS3 better. iOS is nice smooth and clean but it got stale for me..i love both android and iphone.. my iphone 4 is like a ipod touch now i tether it to my GS3 and LTE is fast.. its like my iphone 4 is now a iphone 4GS  :D

im skipping i5 this time..had 1/3GS/4 so its time for a bit of a change... enjoy your iphone 5 everyone dont get them scratched:eek:

I can't think of just one reason. The design of the phone, the quality of the materials, the stability of the software, the lack of gimmick features, and the :apple: ecosystem.

Call quality! I picked up a Verizon s3 a week before the iPhone5 came out. It was constantly dropping calls. Both stock and rooted with CM10 installed. I took it back the day I got the iPhone 5. No regrets.

Adding some things not mentioned before...

- Keyboard: Infinitely better than Android with great auto correction. Can usually type twice as fast.

- Apple Support: Best support in the biz - will likely replace your phone for free if you drop/break it. Easy to walk into a store to resolve issues quickly.

The S3 is simply too big.

I have a tablet. Want a phone to be more portable. I had a Thunderbolt with a 4.3" screen. That was already a little past my limit. The S3 goes way beyond. It feels like a phablet to me.
