What is Your March 11th Game Plan?

I live near Boston and already have the day off to go to PAX East. I'll be there for the morning and early afternoon, and plan to head over to the Boylston St. Apple store around 3pm.

I'm assuming there'll be a decent sized line by the time I get there but they'll have enough stock to cover it. I want a black wifi model, but am flexible on how much memory I get.

Going to pick it up before I head to work later in the afternoon hopefully. It may have to wait until Saturday.
 
I keep changing my game plan.. still in the planning stage.. I am thinking of heading to the mall at 1pm... to have lunch and just keep watching the line incrementally to see what's going on..

Yes, I took the day off from work... It's my xmas this week(mbp on wed and ipad 2 on fri)
 
keep my money in my car at school. then when i get out at 4 race to best buy and wait for an hour then get a 32gb wifi black ipad 2:apple:
 
I would need to sell a $500 iPad for close to $600 on eBay just to break even after taxes, eBay and Paypal fees. I don't think it's worth it to try and flip these. It's far more likely that it would end up selling at a slight loss due to greater supply and/or lesser demand than expected.
 
Well, I will be enjoying my 1st Gen iPad due to for delivery on 3/8 while the rest of you are trying to buy the newest thing :)
 
Don't know my exact plan yet, but it's either go to the apple store or best buy at around 4 and if there is lines wait, but if i predict right and there wont be very big lines, ill come back later and get it outright. This is based on previous launches, don't expect a huge line if one at all.

I'm sure you'll be the envy of everyone who has a the newer, better iPad 2 a whopping three days after you. Good rationale.

You just have to offer worldwide shipping, since it doesn't launch outside of the USA/Canada until 3/25

Then to give the day a good vibe I'll switch over to the "OMG I love my white iPad" threads.

In the end it's a great tablet and everybody will be happy.

Your Thoughts

Hi everyone im located in Lincoln, NE the closest Apple store is about an hour away in Omaha NE. We do have Best Buy which has already confirmed they will be selling it come launch day. Two Walmarts are here, buy sadly when i asked the gentleman working the electronics department at the time seemed uninformed saying he doesn't think they will be selling it until 90 days after the launch day like the 1st gen. Finally we have a Target buy my hopes are not high with them getting it. I work till 3pm on Friday.

My game plan is on Friday after work race to Best Buy and hope the line is not too long or that they can confirm they have enough 32gb wifi black (but maybe white, i haven't quite made up my mind on that haha, wanna see it in hand) to go around.

What do all of you think? Think ill be able to get it? Do you know if BB will be getting the smart covers, HDMI connector, and dock on launch day as well? if not i will just drive to the Apple store in Omaha for those but do you think ill have to go there anyways because BB wont have it?
 
Get off work at ~1:30pm and head to the Apple Store straight from there. Probably get there at about 1:45pm. Scope the line; if one exists, I will get in. If there isn't much of a line yet, I will window shop around (my Apple Store is in a huge outdoor mall) for a bit and keep my eye on the line.

End up with a 32gb white Wi-Fi model and the light-blue smart cover.
 
It's just an iPad. No excitement here.

I'll just click a few times in the Apple online store & be done with it.
 
Might rush to a Best Buy or Target near work at about 5 p.m. Otherwise, I'll probably just order one online. I'd really like to get mine ASAP, but I'm not dealing with a fracking line.
 
Just a heads up to anyone who is going to Best Buy to get theirs on Friday. I stopped by there on my way home, and one of the customer service reps did confirm that they will be on sale at 5:00pm (still haven't got a chance to check in with Walmart, Sam's Club or Target). I plan on leaving work at around 4:00 and driving down the road to pick mine up. Now I just need to decide if I want the Black or the White. UGH!!! So difficult! :eek:
 
Will they be doing overnight saturday delivery options?? Thats the question..for all us ordering basically 12:01.
 
Taking Friday off. Going up to the mall at noon to wait in line. If there is like no one in line then I'll mozy on around the corner to the Barnes and Noble for a bit.
 
just called the local target stores..

they will both be selling at 8 a.m. friday morning when they open they both said.

the first guy said they should be getting the shipment before friday's opening, so they'll be selling them once friday hits. he wasn't sure if they'd have all the models, but said they should get them all.

the second guy said they'll be selling at opening, didn't have the shipment in yet, but anticipated having at least some of each model.

8 a.m. friday = target for me.
