but the name Miracle Whip implies something grand... not that I eat Mayonnaise or Miracle Whip...

and on that note...movies...really.

Am watching Shaolin Hand Lock again during my commute. When I realized it was a family drama I had more fun and even better the eldest son does vaguely resemble his father who was killed for inventing the title kung fu... glad I got a physical copy at the normal price (one of the last available apparently as the dvd has already doubled in price since I picked it up.) Not the best Shaw Brothers film, but my two favorite SB actors / martial artists are mano-a-mano in this so easy to watch.

Erased. Like the Bourne movies but with less action.

Inside/Out (2015)

Animated Herman's Head and never got into it. Overrated like WALL-E and Up. Isn't bad but too melodramatic for me. Toy Story series are still the best animated Pixar films for me and I don't love them that much. But I can understand their hype and rave reviews. This one not so much.

Kung Fu Panda (2008)

This I liked. Funny. Nice Asian relaxing atmosphere. Doesn't take itself so seriously most of the time. I saw the sequel first in the theater but like this one probably a little more since the scenes are brighter. I like them both like Despicable Me 1 & 2. When it came to animal wildlife, I was always into wild cats, African wildlife, koalas, dolphins, polar bears, but pandas can be so... Aww.

Just watched Inside Out. It was creative and brilliant, supurb animation, but it's a movie I need to watch only once... The tug of war between emotions at Command Central in the mind of a young girl. ;) But it's not completely original. The concept took me back to one of the stories, in the movie Everything You Wanted To Know About Sex, with the brain (Command Central) portrayed in charge of a sexual encounter, but IO was much more sophisticated. :)

Lots of familiar voices from Pixar Movies- Abdominal Snowman (Cliff Clavin ;)), Jesse, Peach, Gill, I probably missed some others.

Fantastic Four(2015)

i see why it didn't do well in the box office...

Yeah, that was an awful movie.

I thought it was okay. For me the newest Fantastic Four really highlighted the difference between how Marvel Studios handles bringing their own characters to the big screen as opposed to how other companies do it. I think Marvel does a much better job. They generally seem more invested in the projects beyond just the money making aspect.

i thought this too, even after reading the reviews and what friends said about it...i wanted to see it and judge it myself.

def not as bad as Dragon Wars, now that movie is worse than waterboarding!!!

And Then There Was One (1945)- Good, not great movie version of the Agatha Christie murder mystery.

Haven't seen that.

The title that Agatha Christie originally gave the book was Ten Little *******, and was changed many years later for politically correct reasons.

Edit: I see that MacRumors automatically censors the word. It rhymes with 'diggers'; just replace the 'd' with an 'n'.

That is shocking, as I've only heard the Ten Little Indians version.

Don't think I've seen that one.

I've seen the third one, Return of the Jedi, a long time ago—great fun. Also enjoyed the new one a few years ago, the one starring Simon Pegg.
Return of the Jedi (or the Search for Spock)?

Monkey Business (1952)- Cary Grant, Ginger Rogers comedy. A monkey gets loose in a lab and mixes up a mystery potion of youth with temporary effects on those who inadvertently drink it. It was ok.

The Heroes (1980) - very interesting tweak on the usual destroy / save shaolin martial arts plot. Ti Lung delivers some of the best kung fu I've ever seen him perform (finally catching his Wing Chun training was a treat.) Some solid acting here too, none of the Franco Nero over/underdrive I've come to expect from him. And another awesome Chan Wai Man period villain. Loved his three-in-one pole weapon too. It's too bad the crap English dub and full screen print kind put a damper on this because it is a really good movie. I'll rewatch naturally...

and

Dreadnaught (1981) This had the right ingredients to be a fun kung fu war between two schools, but somehow the scriptwriter thought why not put a serial killer in this and muck up all of the tone, great kung fu and some excellent performances. Leung Kar Yan was terrific and it was nice to see Lily Li. I have to say of the Seven Little Fortunes Peking Opera troupe, I only sort of like Sammo Hung. Yuen Biao (who is in this and is quite talented), is really not my cup. And I think his character could have come out of shell without the serial killer forcing his hand. There was enough good conflict between the two rival martial arts schools and their awesome Lion / Dog dance battles without incorporating the killer. And really bad English dub... oh well.

I saw James Bond Spectre. It was pretty good, very Bond-ish. The motivation for the supervillian was a little lacking.

Anyone seen this? It's described as a "drama" at IMDB. At least one MacRumors member thinks it's a great movie and that the viewer should see it without a hint of what it's about. Personally I like knowing something about a movie I plan on seeing. Here's a plot spoiler link for those who are interested, but it may ruin the surprise.

Well we all know ;) that SPECTRE is a global crime syndicate led by Ernst Stavros Blofeld, that stands for Special Executice for Counter Intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge, and Extortion, I first remember seeing in Thunderball, a tremendous 007 story (that I still love if you can't tell ;)) about the theft of 2 atomic bombs so I assume they are up to no good whatever it is. :):)

That's no the way to see a disturbing movie. ;) However, it's described as "drama" at IMDB. Here's a non spoilerish plot link for anyone who does not like taking a chance on the unknown.
Yes, I'm certain someone who hasn't seen the movie would be in a better position to make that call. Your link provides a befuddling summary of the film, and yet also partially spoils it.

If you are referencing me, my only determination is to know a bit about what I'm walking into as there is quite a spectrum of likes and dislikes wrapped around personal taste. :)
