I really enjoyed the sci-fi movie Passengers!
It is a rare 70's style utopian science fiction movie, despite the current popularity of dystopian material. The two leads are believable and have good chemistry and the script is well written and logical. The set design is out of this world!
It has sadly been underrated by professional reviewers because of the moral dilemma posed in the movie. I haven't seen a similar protest about other movies such as Gone Girl which portray questionable character ethics, but in the case of Passengers it seems to have poisoned the objective assessment of the film. (Here's an example.)
Personally, I haven't enjoyed a sci-fi movie this much in years - it's an old school treat. A
(I haven't gone into the plot, because I believe it is better enjoyed unspoiled, but for those who want to read more about Passengers, I recommend this review from the Empire Online website, which generally has exceptional insight on science fiction movies.)
Well, I might just have to get see this in the theater.
