Spoilers What Movie Are You Watching?

Despicable Me 3. 2nd time this week, but still just as funny.

Last night was the Chaperone. IMDB rated it 5/10. It wasn't that good.

My German colleague swore by it and was almost crying with laughter watching it; my Scandinavian colleagues also said it was a real tradition to watch it - they had all watched it as children on an annual basis and loved it.

I'd never heard of it until yesterday, and watching it as a family is an annual and cherished tradition in many parts of the continent, especially Germany, Scandinavia and a few other countries where its popularity is growing (such as the old eastern Europe).

The other things we watched - we each got to choose stuff - were a few Eurovision wins, - some were brilliantly excruciating - and a few of the mock documentary movie clips made after the inauguration of the current incumbent of the White House (thus, we watched "Netherlands Second" and "Switzerland Second").

I too am an aviation enthusiast and found it to be decent overall. Like I said I wasn't expecting much but I have already seen the Mayday! episode on it which probably ruined Sully for me.

It really is! I think I have most of the episodes and need to watch them. Luckily most of them are on YouTube.

Count yourself fortunate that you didn't waste your time. It's one of the most grossly disgustingly overrated films of all time. 2nd only to The Matrix (in terms of being overrated).

Yeah, like it got destroyed practically up front if I remember it correctly.

SPECTRE, the movie did not do much for me. I still have Casino Royal and Quantum Of Solace as the high point of the modern Bond series, a 1-2 punch. I thought Quantum is much more sinister and reminiscent of the quintessential evil organization of the Bond franchise, then SPECTRE is which seemed a little off in comparison. I should watch it again.

Agree that the secret base was a pretty easy escape at the end of Specta. I prefer the other two Danial Craig movies you mention. I think I'd put it on a par with Skyfall.

Mystery Men (1999)- I never read the comic, but I assume if it was a serious story, original fans were not happy with this comedic take on the story... but I love it, especially the Disco. It starts with a nursing home brawl. :) Casenova Frankenstein’s gangs in the movie: Disco Boys, Not So Goody Mob, Big Tobacco, Susies, Frat Boys, Suits, and Furriors.

Dunkirk

I just watched it and I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out what this movie is about :D And I love war movies (just watched Hacksaw Ridge, Jarhead, and the much older Casualties of War ... liked all three of them).

There's too many parallel sub-stories playing out simultaneously, with constant switching between them every 2 minutes, with absolutely no explanation of who is trying to achieve what or even their friggin names !

Despite the constant tense musical score, the "action" sequences just made me feel numb ... no excitement whatsoever ... they were mediocre at best.

4/10

The music- a consistent monotonous oppressive drone.
The flying- accurate, felt realistic, but kind of boring.
I did not feel like I was watching the evacuation of 300k men. The parts of the story they chose to highlight were not that compelling, maybe too realistic too?

Eckhart Tolle & Oprah 'A New Earth' series from 2014. Amazing. Didnt know it existed until recently. Ive never watched Oprah although ive seen clips from her show where she spoke with some fundamentalist Christians. From that clip i got a sense of her views on spirituality which i resonated with, i just never cared for her show. Love the way Eckhart Tolles mind works. Definitely recommend to anyone interested in mental stimulation.

Eckhart Tolle changed my life, and almost literally overnight. I read 4 pages of his book "The Power of Now" before I knew a big shift had occurred inside me. I just woke up to a new perspective that had been missing all along.

I highly recommend listening to Tolle's audiobooks (recordings of his spiritual retreats).

And yes, A New Earth is one of his best works.
