Bottom line, it's a story of a man given a mission and direct assistance by his deity. :)

Yeah I guess. I just didn't like that twist. And some other stuff. I always like Denzel though!

Seriously, if you like scary movies, have a gander at: A Quiet Place...

Oh god its great. If you are watching for the first time, treat it like a night out, meaning, watch straight through, stay off your phone, just watch and if you've seen it already:

Why didn't they just live by the waterfall

I've seen other people say this, there's a number of reasons why they couldn't/wouldn't do that. Heck, if you just watch the scene, the proximity isn't "near", it's in/under and there's no reasonable way to engineer a way to do that.

Catching up w/ some Spike Lee offerings. Faith-based Red Hook Summer is on today's menu, a part of Lee's "Brooklyn Chronicles". This one Spike Lee financed himself, having felt Hollywood would not let him make the "multidimensional" portrait he wanted to make of a young iPad2-toting African American plunked into Brooklyn from Atlanta for a summer with his grandfather, a Christian preacher.

It's funny, edgy, warm, uplifting, and definitely catches what it's like to be a teenager who's at once a pretty skeptical captive audience but also an eager explorer of all that life seems to offer in the moment.

Kindergarten Cop(1990)

I remember really liking this one when I was younger. It's still pretty good. He couldn't dodge all the bullets in this one tho.

I recently saw Chappaquiddick. I heard good things about it and being born in the 90s, well I missed the entire fascination and celebrity mindset that Americans had with this family when they were popular. As such, I didn't know much about JFK, apart from his assassination and his resolve to beat the Soviets to the Moon that I picked up in my history classes in school.

I took this movie one part educational and one part entertainment. Overall, I enjoyed it and learned a little bit more about the Kennedy's. Interesting stuff IMHO.

The Meg. It’s a very self aware movie as it doesn’t pretend to be something else. It’s cheesy, predictable, and for these reasons it’s also very fun to watch. This movie is the perfect movie to explain the existence of A-List or MoviePass.

Red Dragon (2002)
A retired F.B.I. Agent with psychological gifts is assigned to help track down "The Tooth Fairy", a mysterious serial killer. Aiding him is imprisoned forensic psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter.

That was a good remake. One I enjoyed, but I think I liked the original a bit better (even though I am a big fan of Hopkin's Lecter). The original had a more 80's vibe and was closer to the original publication of the book but Red Dragon was a bit more suspenseful. Both were good in their own way.

yeah, that is still one of the scariest films i've ever seen.

Huh, I didn't know Red Dragon was a remake. I'll have to go look for Manhunter now.

Thanks

Later it will be: Me, Myself & Irene. I’m not particularly a Jim Cary fan but a friend said it was a good waste of time.
