Oh, yah, you betcha, this is a great film.😁

Instant classic from the Cohen brothers. This movie I really like particularly, because it’s from the region of where I live in da north. And yes, we really do talk like that up here with ‘Yah’....Yah know.....Getcha....‘. [When I lived in Tennessee for years, the looks on peoples faces when they heard my accent was hilarious.😁]

What’s interesting, is the Brainerd Police Department actually is a very well respected (Smaller) agency in Minnesota, and initially when the film released, they thought it gave them a poor look that they were kind of incompetent or ‘dumbed down’ because of how some of the officers acted in the film.

Thanks. It had a brief release here in my area back in mid August, when theaters were starting just to re-open, [before they re-closed again.] I don’t know anyone that has watched it other than reading some reviews. I’m surprised they didn’t push Tenet to 2021, given that Christopher Nolan films are usually major box office successes, but obviously the pandemic snuffed this film to the wayside. This was one film I wanted to see in theaters, but obviously I didn’t given the circumstances.
The feedback I have heard, is don’t try to understand it, just go with what your eyes are seeing, typical for many time travel stories. :)

Holidate. Decent, yet low-rated rom-com.

My family is watching the Home Alone series, they're on the 2nd. I can't take them. At all.

I enjoyed Holidate. I'm not that much of a fan of romcoms, though Sleepless in Seattle is in my top 20 films, I watched this cause it had Emma Roberts in it and from the preview on Netflix, it seems quite cynical.

Interstellar comes to mind. They had space data analysts breaking down the travel theories behind that film. Nolan films are always mind warping.

Interstellar one particular definite circle, chicken or the egg paradox.

Well, I was going to toy with the stock market tonight, but Just because of you, I will set that aside, I’m going to fire up my Keurig, have a few Jimmy John’s subs and watch Interstellar.😁.

North Country [2005]

Equality. That’s comes to mind in this day and age of a workplace for anyone, regardless of gender. And when you watch ‘North country’, you see how Women were mistreated in what was considered a men’s profession. When you look at the transitions of times in the workplace 30-40 years ago, bullying and hazing is zero tolerance in today’s standards.

Watching North country, it shows you exactly the hardships that women had to deal with when they wanted to have a financial means to provide for their families, but I also had to deal with the constant barrage of sexual harassment , which led to a class action lawsuit to protect women against toxic work environments. I’ve always liked Charlize Theron as an actress, she’s excellent in this movie, along with a great supporting cast, including Francis McDormand.

On a side-note:

With Francis McDormand as an actress watching this movie, I thought somehow about Ruth Bader Ginsberg (Recently departed Supreme Court Justice) if there’s anyone that could ever play a movie based off her, it would be Francis McDormand. (There’s even some visual similarities between the two.)

Anyways, that was just a random side-thought.

You're not kidding! One of the best ever made. And the first season of the TV series Fargo is also the best! In fact, out of the 4 TV Series of Fargo that came out, Season 1 is the closest to the movie:

Some truly fabulous performances by Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Allison Tollman, and (yes) Bob Odenkirk (of "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul" fame).

But even Seasons 2 and 3 are excellent. I highly recommend them.

Watched the excellent movie Witness last night (for the "millionth" time!):

Besides it so, so enjoyable, Harrison Ford is perfect for the role. But what's so unique is that this type of role was completely out of character for Harrison Ford at that time. He had previously done the "Star War" and "Raiders of the Lost Ark" movies (all very good), but his role in Witness was completely different. I've always thought it was maybe his best movie ever.

My favorite movie. This is just a masterpiece.

You can't call yourself a film fanatic/buff/enthusiast without having seen this. It's like someone saying they love mob/mafia films without having seen The Godfather, or "Scorsese films" without having seen Goodfellas/Raging Bull/Taxi Driver.

While we're on classics, with the release of Mank, and the genius Orson Welles being a hot discussion topic, I hope people who [shamefully] haven't ever seen Citizen Kane, seek it out.

Witness was an excellent movie. After seeing him in the Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark movies it was quite a different role for Ford. But he was excellent in it.

Not finding a lot of new stuff these days I really want to watch, but found this Amazon Original gem written and directed by Alan Ball, whose work I've always admired. The story, casting and acting, and the cinematography are all top notch.

Well, in light of Cyberpunk 2077 launching tomorrow, I thought this movie was more than appropriate to amp up the hype a little bit more. Dennis Villeneuve is
One of the best directors right now I think in the industry, especially with his work with Sicario and the upcoming ‘Dune’ for 2021.

I’ve watched this before, great film. My Only criticism I have, is the sound editing is poorly tuned. The music in the background completely over-rides some of the dialogue.

"Battles Without Honor and Humanity".......Japanese yakuza five movie series

I've watched two so far, about to watch a third one
