Doom (2005) & Doom Annihilation (2019)


Not a bad effort all things considered but need to be a fan of the games. Clearly based on Doom 3. Decent cast who does their best with the material, with Karl Urban going on to star in the very underrated Dredd (2012).


You can see the effort by the actors & crew, however just a low budget placeholder to ensure the studio keeps the Doom name. If there had been more money in the pot no doubt could have been a lot better...

Contagion (2011)

Prophetic to say the very least Held off on this one as so many are suffering deep personal loss. This should be a time of unification; however petty politics as ever prevails

Either ways Contagion is a very compelling watch and a strong recomendation, for all the right and wrong reasons...

Hocus Pocus 2 (2022)- It’s ok, mostly the same story repeated with more background. The actors who played the young Sanderson Sisters were splendid. There are rumors of a third movie, I’d prefer to see the young (modern) witches‘ story carried forward, and add a little grit for a change. One of the best modern witch movies is Practical Magic.

My favorite "modern witch" movie is still "Bell, Book and Candle". Lemmon at his best.
