Halloween Ends (2022)

A different twist on the usual Michael Myers outing; a bit lacking in the killing and scares department.

Just started the Netflix original film The Stranger starring Sean Harris (Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation). Starting off kind of slow.

I was very disappointed in this movie. Michael was barely in it. I’m glad I didn’t physically go to the movies to see it.
Yeah I don't really know what they were thinking. Literally everyone was expecting a conclusion of the same night from the first two and then we got what we got.....I didn't hate it but was baffled at the choices made.

I watched Black Adam yesterday and it was a blast. Not being familiar with the character though, I had no idea he was essentially another Shazam right down to the use of the word to 'change'. It was fun and I hope to see him in future DC films.

Yeap saw this last night and was very surprised, much better then I thought it would be, very enjoyable and better then any recent Marvels film that’s for sure, I think the last decent Marvel film was Spiderman last year. Enjoyed this one.

And I too was surprised to see he was a Shazam! Quite the difference to the last film with that word, which I also enjoyed.

Someone was speculating that Corey got Allyson pregnant and the new baby was going to take Michael’s place. I know Michael is in his 70’s, but I just couldn’t see him not fighting back as much as he do. To let Corey take his mask was embarrassing.

My fiancé and his friends went to see Black Adam on Thursday, and he said it was a good movie. I’m waiting for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to come out.

It seems to me that the last 15 minutes of Halloween Ends was really meant to be the last 15 minutes of the previous movie (it fit perfectly)until someone decided it needed to be a trilogy so they had to come up with 90 minutes of filler. And yes that scene was embarrassing for Michael.

Black Panther certainly looks good. That’s likely my next trip to the theater.

Threads (1984)

Where to start. Threads is a very dark & deep film yet delivers, one of the hardest watches for a specific generation as it portrays what could have happened. Was so close to the point it was banned on the British Forces TV network.

While Threads comes across as being aged, it also comes across as being very accurate & authentic to the period and needs no touching up. As plain and simple it was made in the day where the threat of the day was considered to be very real...

One of the most horrific films ever produced as there is a terrible reality to it and a warning to us all. Then there's The Wargame which was banned in the UK for well over 25 years, as being far too close to reality...

Crazy plot summary. I'll have to watch this one when I can find it in my country.

Just rewatched Anger Management for the first time since it debuted in theaters. Critics were not kind to this one. Features supporting roles by many talented actors, including Marisa Tomei and Woodrow Harrelson.

L&G we're on a roll - Apocalypse Now

Work of art or a work of horror, lot of mystery and a lot of truth. One of the very best Vietnam war films from the western perspective...

My media set up isn't complex by any means, but I love that an 11-year-old repurposed Mac serves up such an eclectic mix of content so proficiently

Finally finished The Stranger, which picked up near the end. Many elements of the film reminded me of Due Date with Robert Downey, Jr. and Zachary Galifianakis. RDJ is underrated as a comedic actor, and I always felt he should have won the Oscar for his performance as Kirk Lazarus in Tropic Thunder.

The farther up the river you go, the more surreal it gets…was this the Redux version with an extra 49 minutes added? I’ve been meaning to watch it, $2.99 to rent at Amazon.

Watched most versions, non-disappoint :)

The Shining (1980)

Not going to get into this one too much, you either get or you don't. If you do is a seminal experience. More you think on The Shining the more the film will mess with your head, and I believe that was Kubrick's intention...

Hell of a watch and then some.

I don't think I've ever watched it from beginning to end. I was always interrupted.
