From 1949: Pulp novelist Holly Martins travels to shadowy, postwar Vienna, only to find himself investigating the mysterious death of an old friend, Harry Lime.

One of the best films ever made IMO.

edit: the soundtrack is a delight - Anton Karas composed and performed the music - lotsa whimsical and poignant Zither.
Media server pushed The Third Man a couple of days back, what a superb watch. Just manually triggered it as now I have the time and I want to focus on the film

Added: This Movie is my Vote for Motion Picture of the Year
like everything else, my vote wont count!

The movie was flowing script and setting-wide, great plot and very entertaining with a twist of the knife.

Another complicated film with loads of wonderful detail to consume over time: "The French Dispatch" by Wes Anderson, with an outstanding cast, though I'm partial to Léa Seydoux.

From IMDB: A love letter to journalists set in an outpost of an American newspaper in a fictional twentieth century French city that brings to life a collection of stories published in "The French Dispatch Magazine".

Terminator Dark Fate (2019)

Not the best by any means. Passable if you turn your brain off, second screening etc...

Weren't these new Terminators supposed to be as good as the first 2?
James Cameron disliked the ones from 3-5 but did a horrible job on the last ones.
I could not watch either because they were bad or same direction, different plot that ruined the other 3
quite honestly I'm confused on which ones were realized last decade and the plot change.

there are 2 that James did were one is the first half an hour but Sarah is now a Bully
and one mentioned here she.....I forgot.

Does James know there are more and new entertainment venues and series to watch
than his rehashing of his epic terminator movies?

whew- glad I got that off my chest!

next gripe:2010 StarWars™ movies!, UNGGGG!

First two films are by far the best, after that they tend to trail off...

somehow my fav is the 3rd one, when everything doomsday happens!
and Arnold going crashing through the car store was great!
Salvation with Bale was good too, a different approach and nice ending.

My friends and I would always quote the the first one though, in everyday life.
I would go to garage sales or store and when they asked:
what are you looking for...
I would always respond "Plasma phaser in the 40 watt range"
they would walk away or stare.......blankly
once someone said "hey just what you see , pal"!
I think I stopped that after then....

Only the first 2 Terminator movies are any good. The first one being very innovative for the time, 80's classic. The 2nd improving what they did. The others are just holding onto something that wasn't really there. James doesn't like 3-5 because he wasn't involved, ok I think he has a story credit for #5 🤷‍♂️. The last one was pretty meh.

I agree completely. ref: Terminator, the third one was watchable because it showed Sky Net breaking bad. There is also Christian Bale vehicle Terminator Salvation, set in the future with Human resistance fighting machines, it’s been so long I should rewatch it. Dark Fate was completely unworthy imo.
