Anyone else kind of pissed off that there won't be any TouchID phones coming out?
I LOVE TouchID. It's enough that if my iPhone 7 Plus were to fall into the sea next month, I'd likely go buy an 8 Plus as a replacement rather than the new notchy TouchID-less phones.
I wish Apple had kept making two lines, the FaceID phones and the classic form factor, at least for a couple more years.
I don't mind FaceID at all. I am looking forward to a generation which is faster and works in landscape, sure, but I'm at the point where I just sit there waiting whenever I pick up my TouchID iPad, before I'm like "oh yeah, home button"
The good news for people who like TouchID is that the iPhone 8 and 8 plus are almost certainly staying in the lineup at least another year, and likely will get a bit cheaper now.

amazing that they've decided to cripple 6.1's camera just to earn couple of $ mpre
Hmm? So its a surprise they use cheaper parts in a cheaper device?

you missed the point. SE is severely outdated.
Anyway, latest tech, in smaller form just like latest tech in bigger form. So, it should be Iphone X -small -medium -large
You do realize the SE stands for special edition, right? It is likely to have a very erratic schedule because (except for Apple Watch) all their mainline phone design work is for devices at least twice as large and with a parts list that's twice as expensive.
Thats not to say another SE won't come, but they need parts that fit and a cost they can ship the thing at before they can focus on a design that works. You can look at other second tier products (iPad mini, Mac mini, Apple TV, Mac Pro, MacBook Air) and see similar erratic release schedules.

I am looking forward to returning to plus-sized phones, and finally updating my s0 watch. But I am very curious what the sales pitch will be to explain why the XS is better than the X. Improved camera and processor are not likely to get many x owners to upgrade this year unless they want to move to the “max.” I’m guessing there is some other unknown feature that will be the selling point.
I would suspect so. I mean, really all we know at this point is the front bezel sizes and that "iPhone xs" is likely based on the filename of a leaked image.
The watch leak with the new face is a much bigger leak imho.
