so tell me again whats the purpose with having two cameras on the back of the iPhone??

Quoting my own post from another thread :
Here's some of the features the dual LinX Imaging camera could bring:
  • Bokeh effects, changing the depth of field after the picture was taken.
  • Much better performance in low light situations.
  • Augmented Reality (AR) applications - LinX cameras provides a true pixel-precise depth map, which would greatly help virtual object placement and orientation.
  • 3D photos/videos - tilt your iPhone to get some 3D parallax depth effect while watching your photos/videos. Not easily possible with traditional stereophotography which needs shape recognition to estimate a fake depth map from two 2D images, and often fails at it.
  • Ability to create a 3D model of a room just by scanning it with your iPhone.
  • Background removal/replacement. With a depth map, it's easy to isolate subjects from the background.

Will this keynote have members of the public present or just members of the media? I suspect even the media are fanboys. I wonder what kind of fallout would occur when Tim/et al announce "We made the iPhone truly magical by saving another 1 mm by removing the 3.5 mm audio port..." I would wonder if that will be met with crickets or boos. I am hoping for the latter and love how Apple reacts to that bombshell (said in my Jeremy Clarkson voice)

I hope you are not a gambler if you are betting that's Apple's explanation about the jack will be that they wanted to make the device thinner. After the announcement, the most likely "fallout" is that they will sell millions in just the first few days and 60 to 70 million or people in the world will respond so positively to the new iPhone that they buy it in the upcoming Christmas season.

Can I have peoples guesses on if they will be announcing the next event date during the September event if there is an October event ?
Very highly doubt it. They will wait a few weeks and send out another teaser. We will probably have a hint that "more products are coming soon", or "see you again soon" at the end though.

I'm certain Apple is very aware of the general frustration in the Mac user base at the current state of Mac hardware. I expect almost the entire product line to updated in one way or another before the holidays. I think they expect this to be a big year for the Mac sales near the holidays. iPhone sales will be slightly down, but almost everyone I know that uses Macs is talking about upgrading soon, which is why there so much pent up demand for new hardware.

I think it really comes down to Apple waiting on the supply chain for the components and quantities that they need to release from Intel/AMD/TB3/USB-C etc.

MacBook Pro 17"!
With a G5 processor.

Bluetooth 5 is coming late 2016, early 2017. Wonder if we might see that included on the new iPhone and Apple Watch. They've included non-standardized tech in the past. It'd sure be nice to have.

Bluetooth 5 quadruples the range, doubles the speed, and increases data broadcasting capacity by 800%.

You heard it here first.

That sounds great. Either wireless charging or a battery that lasts many years of normal use.

Maybe we can work something out. I'm using AT&T 128GB 6s Plus Gold with Apple care>

What to expect? People wondering out loud if we've reached peak iPhone. Apple fanboys trying to make some lemonade out of lemons, while quietly starting to worry about their favorite tech company. Tim & Co making fun out of their predicament with the EU ruling and trying their best to make a meh iPhone update look a lot better than it is. That's what you can expect. In other words, don't expect much and you'll only be slightly disappointed.

Well, if the rumors are correct, there's a lot to be excited about-- double the base and max storage, battery life increase, faster charging, increased waterproofing, faster more powerful processor, increased screen resolution, new True Tone color, increased glass strength, new color choices, new low light camera, optical image stabilization, new duo lens system with wow features, new dual speaker system with better sound and volume, new lightning headphone dual control system, new wireless headphone options, etc. And those are just the ones that have supposedly leaked! I am not sure why you can call producing a new phone with all of that and whatever else they will surprise us with " a lemon," but I think 60 or 70 million people will be excited to use the new phone enough to fork over big bucks by Christmas.

It'll be more of the same old rant... followed by ifanboys doing the Kumbaya..yet again!

At times Mac Rumors Forums remind me of a pack of hungry dogs all trying to eat at the same bowl. At first everyone dives in, gobbling it down, but invariably and predictably the "hounds" are soon at each other's throats, snarling and fighting with each other, kicking over the bowl... challenging each other to a duel. It's inevitable.

A few changes to the article

Lightning can provide better quality audio than a 3.5mm headphone jack if the manufacture spends money on a high quality DAC while making them incompatible with anything other than an iPhone or iPad, which may be one reason Apple is making the switch.

Somebody's not drinking the Kool Aid!

And you are exactly right.
